+1 for the speedo needle width and dial gradations, also for the indicators on the tach. =/

What I don't like is how the speedo and tac is shifted to the right. Why they couldn't center that in the view through the steering wheel is just lazy and crappy execution.

I can adjust the wheel to make it better, but in my line of sight the top right of the tac is still blocked if I have the wheel right where I want it.

The other thing that bugs me is the door panel. doesn't really have a good spot to rest your elbow while hanging on to the steering wheel. Door sill too high, and arm rest down lower too low to use and also have your hand on the wheel.

I'll bet it was one of those things designed on computer and not by a live person driving the car who would have noticed in 5 seconds of driving there is no comfortable place to rest your left arm while driving and holding the wheel.

Sit in a vette and you'll feel some comfortable spots to rest your arms.
In the Camaro I wind up with my arm resting on my left leg and looking at the door panel thinking who the fck designed that. Probably the same person that couldn't center the gauges in the steering wheel.

I don't know how you sit in your Camaro, but when I sit in mine the guages are perfectly centered... only time it looks off is if I lean on the center console then they look shifted to the right, but in normal driving position I see no right side shift of the guages... the door arm rest is comfortable too... but I never rest my arm on it when I am holding on to the steering wheel with the same hand.. that would restrict your movements too much...
I don't understand how you must be sitting in there and get that impression...

I like them both the way they are, but what I really like is how my speedo displays numerically in the DIC.

+1 on the needles being too wide and dial gradiations lacking.
Not the end of the world, but...

I rarely look at either, and thats the truth.

You should be able to tell your RPMs by sound, and speed i always use the digital display.

I only bought my car because its a Camaro, the 426 horses didn't hurt either. All the rest ...... I'd sit on a milk crate if I had to just to drive it.

Fonts are bad. It's silly to have to rely on a digital display 3 inches from the actual speedometer because the gauge itself is so hard to read at a glance. I'll take the Camaro Black gauges PLEASE!

^This. I wouldn't say the analog is quite worthless, though; if you're scrolling through the other functions of the DIC, you at least still have a speedometer. I have noticed that my digital and analog seem a few mph off from each other - the analog will be right at 60 and the digital will say 62.

No big deal, though.

Oh, and at an imposing 5'4", I have the wheel adjusted where there's no problem seeing them.

I personally love the gauges. Specifically the "floating" effect of the needles achieved by having them two colors to hide the base. Plus the tie-in to the old school gauges. I do find myself using the DIC display a lot for speed too.

At 6'1" I have no problem seeing the speedo and tach, but I almost always keep the DIC set to digital speedometer mode or else I stop paying enough attention to my speed.

I can SEE the speedo and tack just fine, but with that thick needle on the speedo it is really difficult to gauge your exact speed. Thusly I always used the digital speedo

Grade: A for looks, C for functionality on the analogs. They're in the right place and light up pretty, just need thinner needles and better number gradation.

Even if they were the best analog instruments in the world I'd be ignoring them so long as the digital display was there, though.

I was able to get a better view of the speedo and tac after some more tinkering with seat and wheel position. Who'd of thunk that wheel telescoped too , learn something everday surfing this site!

Column and steering wheel come out of the IP at a hair of an angle. Left side of the wheel is about 1/2 inch farther in at the 9 oclock position vs 3.
With that slight angle, when my wheel was all the way in - not telescoped at all, the first thing I noticed was the top right of the tac line of sight is blocked. Didn't notice the speedo too much as was mainly using the digital in the center dic.

But with the wheel telescoped a bit and seat fussed with a bit, much better line of sight. They should put a little sticky note on the wheel - "This thing also telescopes dummy!"
