I am not sure if there are clearance problems within the tunnel where resonator sits but in theory it should, since the pipes are a bit smaller there would probably need to be some kind of adapter as mentioned earlier, which is probably why the dealership didn't want to touch it, but a decent exhaust shop should be able to weld something up pretty easy I'd wager.

OP, gina_09.. Here is some info I dug up as to whether a V8 exhaust and it's components will fit on your V6.. I concluded the answer is yes it will.

OK all, I finally found the diagrams I was looking for to compare the stock systems between the V6 and the V8. Looks like I was incorrect about the resonators. The V6 auto system looks just like the LS3/V8 system. Except from the manifolds and cat pipes.

And for you curious folks who like to see the difference in the muffler internal configurations, dug these up.
![]() First one is the L99 Resonator, second is the V6 muffler, then the L99 muffler, last is the LS3 muffler.
