I am not sure if there are clearance problems within the tunnel where resonator sits but in theory it should, since the pipes are a bit smaller there would probably need to be some kind of adapter as mentioned earlier, which is probably why the dealership didn't want to touch it, but a decent exhaust shop should be able to weld something up pretty easy I'd wager.

This. As he mentioned, it should fit because the tunnels in the V6 and the V8 cars are exactly the same. No different. Like he mentioned a good exhaust shop would be able to "fit it" in there with an adapter to connect the different sizes of tubing. The other thing you have to think about is that this big resonator weighs about 20-30 lbs!!

OP, gina_09.. Here is some info I dug up as to whether a V8 exhaust and it's components will fit on your V6.. I concluded the answer is yes it will.

OK all, I finally found the diagrams I was looking for to compare the stock systems between the V6 and the V8. Looks like I was incorrect about the resonators. The V6 auto system looks just like the LS3/V8 system. Except from the manifolds and cat pipes.

Right the V6 and V8 Ls3 systems look the same but are not the same.
differences are 2.25 Inch system vs 2.5 inch System
The Mufflers are not he Same, the SS LS3 muffler is Straight thru,
whereas the V6 and SS L99 Mufflers have a helmholtz resonator built in for Frequencies
The V8 being a Displacement on Demand (8-6-4) Drone
And the V6 Well being a V6 (sound Like poop) Drone

But an upgrade on the The V6 is the L99 Exhaust System, Bigger Pypes

Yep, then it would be pretty quiet for him with that MASSIVE resonator in there! lol. Whereas the V6's don't have that.

And for you curious folks who like to see the difference in the muffler internal configurations, dug these up.









First one is the L99 Resonator, second is the V6 muffler, then the L99 muffler, last is the LS3 muffler.
