HAHA yep Thats the one thing that Killed the RX-8 all said and done Its gas sipping hapits are simply unsustainable. I once was a RX-8 lover and still think that the mazda is the better car BUT I have no regrets getting the Camaro.

All things considered, if Mazda made an optional 4 cylender turbo charged motor available in the RX8, that would give it more power than the rotary, with the same ~30mpg that many turbo 4cyl's get, I probably would have gotten that. Mazda fans would cry the same tears people on this forum cry when people ask about trailer hitches on the Camaro but in the end, MPG is very important. A piston engine would change the feel of an RX8 a LOT, but it would still be a kick-ass handling car that would be a hell of a lot better to drive than a mazda 6.

BUT talk about off topic. So my camaro has been sitting in my driveway for 22 days now. I hope it starts when I get home. My street isn't on a hill so I can't jump start it if it's dead. Eep.

Congrats man. I bet the power is a huge step up compared to that 13B. No torque at all, and is way undertuned due to the problems with the FDs in any conditions that don't involve complete sunshine and temps above 60. Your 8 (along with all previous gens) was a track car through and through. Great suspension, and always right where you want it. Rotarys are scary though, I want an FD someday, but am so scared of how a previous owner has treated it and the shape the apex seals are in. Have fun with your Camaro, pistons can be fun

Next year they are supposed to be sticking that RENESIS (spelled wrong, who cares) motor in.

with a 4 cyl it wouldn't be an RX8... the R means Rotary it would be an IX8 then

Congratulations on your Camaro, I have the V6 Automatic, and I must disagree with your assessment of it, Mine is very quick and peppy..

I also have some pics now. This is victory red. It doesn't really look this orange, the pics are taken from my iPhone. It does look kinda orange at night under street lights. But otherwise it is very red.

BTW, I know it's been mentioned before on the forums, but you can always tell which side of your GM car the gas tank in on by looking at your feul gauge. There's an arrow pointing out which side it's on.

Now maybe, but that wasn't always the case.

My 2000 Grand Am GT has no fuel indicator, I know where it is, however anyone who borrows my car doesn't.

If the Camaro really wanted to be retro, they would have put it behind the license plate :-D
