Well that, and a smaller diameter wheel with an equally low profile tire. Though I know it would look strange on a car designed for 20's though lower springs might compensate some.

422hp + Snow =
That would be nice, but I DON'T have the room for 2 cars. Already have 3 cars that aren't mine. I have room for just 1 car.

I intend on driving to work only if snow is on the ground. Since I only work 14 days a month, if I get a big snow storm I will just stay home for the day. Plus the streets here get cleared pretty quickly.

I will use the OEM 20" SS wheels/tires from April 1 to Nov 1 each year.

The 18" Blizzak LM-25 snows will go on cheap 18" wheels which I will buy both at Tirerack.

I WISH I COULD HAVE 2 CARS. OUT OF THE QUESTION. NO ROOM.

SS's are gonna come with sweet wheels I don't get it. Why change size?
20" SS wheels/tires for 7-8 months.

18" Snow tires and 18" wheels for 4-5 months a year.

Get it.

Use your head. With a 14" rotor and a caliper that will stick up a couple of inches above that there is no way an 18" wheel will fit over those brakes. No doubt that's why those brakes wont come on the V6 versions. 18" is the outer diameter of the wheel, the inner diameter will be less, especially in the center where the caliper will be.

You are correct, but NO NEED to be rude thankyou.

I wonder WHAT size would fit then.

The BMW 135i has 13.5" rotors and come with 18" OEM wheels.

So I thought 18's MIGHT??? Fit on the Camaro SS rotors.

I am SORRY I asked such a stupid question.

maybe a solution

Hey new to the forum, want to say hello. I might have a solution for winter tires on the SS camaro

245/50R20 Bridgestone Blizzaks 29.8 Diameter

680 revolutions per mile. Meaning when your speedometer reads 60 your really going 62. Closest thing that might fit.

option 255/50R19 Bridgestone Blizzaks 29,1 diameter

716 revolutions per mile. Meaning when your speedometer reads 60 your going 60.7. the thinner 245 might be better in the snow than 255.

I have looked at all possiblities and these seem to be the two. I am planning on using my SS all year round. So i hope one of these combos work. I have the blizzaks on my BMW and they are awesome. What do you guys think

Thankyou. Thats the advice I was looking for. I wonder if the 245 might be a little wide for cutting through the snow? Not sure. The taller size would also be better for clearance. Taller is always better in the snow. I read alot of people with BMW's drive year round with snow tires and have no problems. The Camaro SS should be like a 135i in the snow. Powerful RWD car.

I will check them out. Thanks again

I use 245s on the my 530i and they work great. There isn't a skinnier tire that has that big of a rim that I could find in a blizzak. 245s should be ok

I just went to Tirerack, the Blizzak LM-25 245/50/20 would be great, but they are a little expensive @ $245 each. They are Performance Winter tires. Also a 20" wheel won't be cheap. They are 10" wide, 29.8" high.

What about the Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow, Light truck/SUV studless ice & snow. 235/55/19" are 29.2" high and 9.3" wide, that would be better for snow. They are alot less @ $171 each, plus a 19" wheel should also cost less then a 20" wheel.

What do you think???
