I’ve been wanting to upload tutorial videos for a while now, of even common stuff like flushing a hydraulic power steering (pump) system. Most of the searches for stuff like that, on places like Youtube, will show the siphon/chicken baster method, where you only remove the dirty fluid from the reservoir and then refill it. It doesn’t do jack, and you end up with the same dirty-looking (and probably worn) PS fluid, even if you do this all year long.

We need videos on Youtube of more niche tutorials. Hell, I can barely find a good tutorial on replacing the rear sump oil pans on most LS engine equipped cars. There’s tutorials on other platforms and setups, but I wanted to see one specifically for a Camaro chassis/underside. The subframe, cross members, etc. all have slight differences…

I love this - and I agree that we need more content like you're describing. I'm not interesting in doing how-to's, but I do like to drop 5-10 minute videos with Gen 5 Camaro information when I can. It's hard to find time to create them, I've got a list I want to do, I just need more hours in every day!

What I love is when people post BS on social media and then say they got it off Camaro5.

I'd love to see a procedure on flushing power steering. I drained the pump, removed the hoses and flush them out, turned the wheel a bazillion times, filled it and turned the wheel a bazillion more times and the brand new OEM pump is weak at idle.

Tbh, I had the same issue, but I think you kind of just have to constantly steer lock to lock with the front end off of the ground, before getting it onto the ground to start steering lock to lock. I know for sure that if I haven't bled the system enough with the car off, when I go to turn on the engine, if the wheels are up, the steering will basically have a seizure. LOL

Other than what you explained, I didn't remove the hoses all the way, just the return line. I just leave the stock line on and maneuver it through by the alternator. The hose doesn't move enough, even with the mounting bolt/bracket removed, so you kind of have to just have the front end in the air and figure out where the fluid vomits itself out of the return line facing the ground.

I did notice most of the aftermarket PS pumps having some kind of noise, whether the pump seemed to be bled to no end or not. Even the Cardone and some Reman pumps had some constant whining when turning or just with the engine on. I had a handful of aftermarket pumps that worked perfectly, except acted and sounded just like a supercharger past 3k RPM's. I'm guessing there's just air that's somehow stuck and can't be bled out on those. Other than that, I didn't have any particular issues with aftermarket pumps; they were just annoyingly noisy.

Don’t forget that while some information on here is important and useful there are also information that people share that is absolute bullshit and false. Beware where you get your information.
