But the new wunz look better, still sound good, still burn rubber. Most likely they will perform better too. I'm not making an arguement ok.

I wonder how many people would accept a base model Camaro the same as the Base Model was back in 67?
6 cyl, straight drive, no air, no power brakes or steering, Vinyl seats rubber floor mats, no air conditioning...

We've come a long way and it is so surprising how much people expect to have from a base model car nowadays.... If we had to go back to that kind of equipment as standard today it would have been like people in 67 having to go back to the Model T.

and yes 0-60 in 8 seconds was fast back then and we didn't even think 12-14 MPG was bad... Then I had a 65 Corvair that you measured 0-60 times by a Calendar instead of a stopwatch...

I know you younger folks on here have no clue what it was like, so you better appreciate what you have now.

It goes to show people remember the past with rose colored glasses. I can verify, my first car was a 68' 327, and it wasnt fast. I timed it once to 60, and after 10 seconds gave up.
It is a bit sad the new car is bigger in every dimension. I loved my newer Camaro's , but i did notice how much longer they felt , than the tidy dimensions of the First Gen.

You can't hold back progress. We have much better cars now than could ever be imagined. The handling and brakes back then were horrible. No lateral support in the seats. Yes they were cozy. I'll take progress. Great styling, performance, handling, no carburators, IRS (suspension not taxes) full disc brakes. Cozy is a 19" TV. I'll stick with my 52" LCD and the new Camaro thank you!
