Yup, I really like my PC! Tried Adan's swirl & haze remover followed by Zaino Z-2...just beautiful! Got a lot of the swirls out! I'll be putting on a nice coat of hi-temp paste after the next wash - since all the rain over here got her all dirty again :( But, it cleans up SO easily!

Did you do an alcohol wipedown after the pc or wash it before you applied the Zaino?

So it would be ok to use this for waxing each time? Or should you hand wax primarily and occasionally get this out for a "super" wax

Why would I need to rewash it or do an alcohol wipedown after using the Swirl & haze remover? No, I didn't. I just applied the Zaino...

Thanks,
Michael J.

If you're using it to wax, then you should be using a finishing pad which has no cut, so you won't be removing any clear. Wax whichever way you feel like.

Anytime you do buffing really. You need to remove any remaining oils (nearly all have them) or the Zaino (or any sealant) won't bond properly, thus shortening its life.

Hmmm...didn't know that. I even use the PC to put on the Zaino products, one after the other, and other than spraying the detail spray and wiping it down, I don't do any other cleaning in between. Guess I'll need to change that

Thanks!

Technically, the PC-7424XP has 800 OPM's more power than the standard PC-7424. It also has a more ergonomically designed body and a better on/off switch. The cord legnth is the same for both, although I cjamged my cord to a 25' 14 gauge cord. Other than that, they are the same machine. Is it worth buying the newer machine if you already have the older one. Absolutely not.

I agree, except for the part about the cord.

I have every kind of foam pad on the market. All of the Lake Country pads as well as the Adam's pads. Other than the fact that Lake Country makes way more pads than necessary, I have seen absolutely no difference in the cutting or polishing ability of any of the pads on the market today. Since different manufacturer's usually send me stuff to try out for free, I get to see first hand how they perform. Again, I haven't seen any difference between all these different pads on the market.

I am curious to know what it is you don't like about the polishes that Adam's makes. Also, what Meguiar's polishes are you using to gauge your opinion on? I have an extensive collection of Meguiar's polishes in my garage as I have a Mirror Glaze distributor by my house. The only sell Meguiar's professional line (Mirror Glaze) so I'm comparing my opinion (which I haven't stated yet) strictly on Meguiar's pro line.

You probably haven't seen this video series. Check it out. The PC can be used for everything from paint correction to sanding and applying wax. It is a safe and versatile machine that is built like a horse and will last you for years. You will find that once you realize how useful and how much of a time saver the PC is, you won't be able to live without it.

I'm in love !

here is the results (on my girlfriend's 98 honda prelude):

BEFORE

AFTER
With the amount of damage in that paint, I probably would have started with the Mirror Glaze Medium Cut Cleaner, went to the Fine Cut Cleaner and then finished with the #9. That would have really cleaned that paint up even nicer. You got some good results though and it does give you an idea of just how powerful but safe the PC is.

I never recommend mixing brands this way. Both Zaino and Adam's are excellent products that go about paint correction in a slightly different way but they are engineered to work well withing their families, not with other brands. You rob yourself of all the engineering that goes into the manufacturing process when you mix brands like that so I always tell folks to pick a brand and stay within their family. You can not go wrong with either brand.

You can use this machine to wax, remove wax or polish anytime that you are addressing your paint. The secret is in choosing the correct pads and products for the job you are tackling. Always choose the least aggressive option first and work your way up to the damage until you learn to look at your damage and choose the right product every time. You are not going to wipe the clear coat off your car with this machine unless you constantly use the most aggressive products on the market with wool pads on a daily basis. Nobody here is that crazy or careless.... I think.

I use Adam's Detail Spray for that. Works like a charm and the Machine Superwax sealant has absolutely no trouble bonding with the finish. The Americana carnuba wax also loves this pre-treatment. Alcohol, although it can be used is not necessary.

I did the same thing when using Zaino. If Sal Zaino approved it, I did it.

Wow great post Junkman. I have used swirl and haze remover, revive hand polish, i think its called butter wax. They were pretty good products, but I have just noticed that on some cars there wasn't really a deep shine to it. Maybe its the way im applying it. Big fan of your work by the way

Thanks.

The shine for any product comes from the prep. By the time you get to the wax, your depth and shine should already be there. Wax is for protection. Prep is the key.

My roof, after prep with clay, SHR and FMP. No wax.
