yes, any local dealer will handle it. Good time to find one and stick with them so they get to know you They'll take care if it! Don't worry.

Really? Hmm... that's kind of good to know. What the heck is it?

Trunk monkey?

Actually, there have been threads on the trunk knocking. It is something pressurizing in the gas tank and is normal. The first time mine did it I about peed my pants and jumped out to beat the pizz outta whoever was banging on my rear quarter only to find no one there!

I get it if I start the car less than half full and leave it idle for about 2-3 minutes before taking off. The radio will drown it if you have it on. Most people are driving before it does it and it goes unnnoticed.

Best of luck with the other gremlins! Enjoy the car.

Hmmm.... that makes sense, because my driveway is like a 50 degree slope. Maybe the fuel collecting in the back affected the pressure. And maybe all of the other noises are in my head because of it?!!? Do you guys hear a "little" rattle or grinding at all when you change gears?

Here's an embarrassing question - how do I know if I have the LS99 or LS3?

Yeah, so, I think I may have panicked unnecessarily. I am going to take it out for a drive tomorrow. I have an appt next week anyhow, just in case. The phantom trunk knocking set me down a path of paranoia I think. Perhaps the rattling is normal and I am just over analyzing the sounds of a powerful engine.

well, its been a month... any word on how this all turned out? Did it end up being a problem or just the effects of new-car + unknown sound = paranoia? I ask because my SS/Automatic is on order and knowing what to expect would be extra helpful.

Thanks!

I haven't noticed the knocking sound, but i have noticed the rattle/grind before shifting and i noticed some occasional whining from the transmission. I think a visit to the dealer is in store

Doesn't sound like axles if it occurs when the car is stopped. Perhaps a fuel pump issue?
