I vote for the jealousy theory. A nice sunny day and your stuck behind the
wheel of an Altima?? I'm sure they would much rather be in your seat and were having difficultly expressing that to you

I think we will discover the driver of the Nissan experienced a very painful muscle cramp and thrashed about in his car to relieve the stress ....only appearing to flip you off. He was most probably attempting a thumbs up in approval of your Camaro and became the victim of an aggressive cramp. Just trying to throw a positive spin...

Yes,

This has happened more than once and for no reason other than jealousy by other type of vehicles. Don't worry about it and expect that it will happen again.

Thanks,

He was watching you pass the others one at a time. But he was the one causing the line of traffic. You steamed his clams! Once a jerk, always a jerk.

Camaro's are equiped with a SLOW car magnet in the front bumper, go out on the road and slow cars are attracted to your front bumper, usually at a speed BELOW the speed limit.

Wow. I didn't realize that some people resent Camaros. It seems like such a foreign concept to me. It' not like it's a Ferrari or some other unaffordable vehicle for most people. Sure, I feel fortunate to have one, but I'm just a middle class slob, working a middle class job, and I was able to get one by saving my pennies.

If it makes the situation better I too live in mid-Ohio and yeserday while driving I got "that is a great car" comment at a gas station from an older guy and while driving thereafter I got a different hand salute - a great big "thumbs up" with a big grin from a young man.

As they say " it takes all kinds to make the world go round" unfortunatley some are just not very pleasant.

Here's a question:

You say this was a two-lane state highway, which I take to mean one lane each direction. Is this correct? And were you in a passing zone?

If the answer is yes to both, then I would have slowed down to 40 in front of the Altima

Is it just me or does suggesting it was some sort of Camaro Envy/Jealousy just sound kind of juvenile...
Maybe it was..but is that really something people say? "Oh he's just jealous I have a Camaro"...REALLY?

Its not that folks dont like Camaros - its just that it is still a relatively rare and very cool looking car - and they are not in it ..... Some folks react with a smile and a thumbs up - some will give a sneaky sideways glance (my youngest loves when they do that) and some will ignore you .... while a small majority will decide they hate you for having a nice vehicle

Dont let it bug you - we already gave this guy way more time and thought than he deserves and you should just enjoy driving the fruits of your labors

Nothing on this earth harder to figure than human beings

I would not really think that except for I've been driving on this same road for 20 years in other cars. Same speed, passing occasionally, but not wildly. On only the second day I am driving the Camaro, I get flipped off. Seems like it's the car. Maybe.

Hehe, yeah. it's a two lane road (one lane each way). I was tempted, but I am determined NOT to be the jerk in this car. It makes people po'd at Camaros in general... oooooh. Now I get it!

I know if I pass people going to work on our little two-lane road, even when I'm in the passing zone, people get stupid.

This applies to when I'm in the Camaro AND when I'm in the Blazer.

I'm betting you probably scared that person because they may not have known it was a legal passing zone.

Some people are just completely ignorant of the rules of the road.
