My car was a CT car imported to NC by the dealer...they fixed the holes in the bumper...
Pulled the bumper fascia and filled the holes from the rear then re-painted it..can't tell they were ever there..
Just make sure the fill them from the backside...my dealers body man said any other way and they will be noticable again after 6 months..

Before..

After....
WOW, you really can't tell at all. i can't imagine that was cheap to have them do that though....

no. there are only TWO cars in the country that meet my specs (2LT/ABM/RS/auto/sunroof)... this dealer is actually giving me $4000 off MSRP. it's a steal... but even with that kind of a price the front plate is a deal breaker!

Actually it was FREE!!

They told me $300, I have read of people paying upwards of $900 to have it done so I said "do it"...went to pick it up and they said "don't worry about it,it's on us"!
Hendrick Chevy in Cary NC ...

I'm picky as hell..and it looks PERFECT!

Hopefully your dealer will be as great,or at least do it at a great price...

If there are only two 2LT ABM RS W-Auto, Leather, Sunroof, and W/O Stripes in the country, and the one you found is available for 3~4K off MSRP, and you pass on buying the car because there is a plate attached to the front bumper, I would say you maybe are not really dedicated to owning a 5th Gen ABM.
These cars are hard to find, and harder to find with the options you require.
The holes in the bumper can be repaired at any time. Even a few months after you get the car.
The holes in the bumper, you can make go away. If you do not get the car just because it has plate holes in the bumper, then you may never have a 5th Gen Camaro, 2LT/RS, with Leather, Sunroof and no Stripes.
How bad do you want one?
I'd be willing to have the holes fixed and disappear if it was me, before all the available ABMs disappear.
GET THE CAR! Just Sayin!

I bought mine in Mass also. Clay chevrolet. They were the only one within 1500 that had the exact car that I wanted. Every vehicle on there lot had the front bracket installed. They told me by law they have to do this. In which I replied bullshit because Mass only requires 1 plate. Bought the car anyway, RI requires 2

It's NOT petty!!! Anyone who looked at the front of that car would see the holes and .

Print out this thread for that dealer to see. If they're reading this... FILL IN THOSE HOLES! You can't lose with customer service like that.

(That being said, buy the car. If it's exactly what you want, filling in the holes is worth it.)

As a resident of MA I can assure you that we are a 2 plate state.
That being said: I got my car from Classic in Grapevine, TX (also a 2 plate state) and asked that they not install the plate. They did as I asked and I have no holes in my car because of it. A MA dealer could be in trouble POTENTIALLY if they sell a car to a MA resident without a spot for a front plate but I don't know why a dealer would attach it right away. There's a chance they're going to run into a situation like the OP is in where they find a buyer from out of state or are offered a trade from another dealer from out of state. To these other individuals, the holes they have put into the car might just cost them a sale. So much easier if they'd just install the bracket after they've found an in-state buyer.

you do make a good point. but like i said in the message to you, i am spending all i can allow myself to spend right now with a move coming up in my very near future... not to mention back surgery. i know i can't pass this deal up, but at the same time, if it's already got the holes in it and they WON'T fix it (which i don't know if they will or not, i haven't talked to them yet since i just realized it last night), then that's just one more expense that i feel like i don't want to deal with. BUT, maybe i'm also kind of freaking about getting the car because it IS huge purchase...

if i understood the dealer correctly, this car was ordered as a sold car for an in-state customer... maybe that is why the brackets were already installed?
