Oh this isn't new or anything... I've seen this at places like best buy. Theres a brand called Viper that does remote starter and security and all that. They have that too, its about 600 I believe to buy and install. You can be in California and start/kill your car with any smartphone that has the app in New York. Its sweet!

That's a LOT of rewiring... you need to tap into a lot of circuits to control all the window switches, door locks, engine, etc.

Very cool stuff.. never the less.

The red eye is a wireless to IR converter.. $119.00.

Then you need a bunch of X-10 switches, and the controller (phone or itouch).

It wouldn't cost too much to do this.. the Labor and rewiring will take a long time, as you would need to dis-assemble a lot of the car to access the wiring to do this.

there is an OnStar iPhone application for the Chevy Volt, which obviously isn't out yet. It's free, but you can do all of this and more with the Volt.

So since there is nothing special about the Volt to allow this, there may come a time when you can do this all with your smart phone (not iPhone specific) with your current Camaro.
