I'm in the same boat in Missouri here.

Just got back from the dealership when it hit me that we're required to get front plates. I really don't want those holes drilled in the front of my bumper, so I'm debating if I should let them or not.

Do you know if it's illegal to just have the plate sitting in the front windshield instead?

Most of the state laws are worded to say the plate must be on the front of the vehicle. Slipping it on the dash is not good enough.
Dangerous too. If you get rear ended that thing on the dash becomes a flying razor blade.

I am in WI. and we are a front plate state. For now, mine is staying in the trunk. Just can't bring myself to put it on and ruin the look of the car.

I had to put mine on here in RI and I bought the bracket that bolts right up to the factory bolts under the nose, I am very happy with it.

How does one object completly ruin the looks of an entire vehicle?

I just ziptied my braket to the bottom grill. fits perfectly.

Yes it's removable, but a bracket stays underneath. You won't find it on the web site. You will have to call them. They are a hobby shop. They must make them in the back room or something.

You probably have the same one as I have.

Didn't Missouri senate bill SB 781 pass which eliminates the front plate requirement?

I live in Canada... and I also need the plate on as well. It's 150 bucks per ticket. But the honest truth is, I've recently came back from the body shop and my Bumper was replaced. I plan to use that story when i get pulled over. Hopefully I won't be pulled over too soon. But i've seen SO many cop cars since I got the car back. I cringe everytime i see one.

You'll probably be fine for the most part, but do not park on the street! Meter-maids will not hesitate; this is where the majority of these tickets come from.

Wyoming is a front plate state, however I will not put one on. I will pay the ticket if they give me one. I keep the plate in the car. Over half of my driving is done in Colorado and they are a lot less restrictive. As proof of that look at my Adams Polish event photos and count the front liscence plates. 24 out of 25 cars that showed up did not have a front plate. It makes the front of the car look stupid. My 2 cents. Ps my 69 camaro never has had a front plate either.

I once got a ticket for speeding and and no front plate. I used some black double sided tape to mount the plate and get the ticket signed off. Two years later The same cop recognized my car and pulled me over just for not having a front plate and chewed me out for not taking his first ticket seriously.
