The G meter in the HUD in my C6 was the most fun. It would measure the gforce you would pull in a corner.

I'll put it this way, the ONLY reason I got the 3LT package was for the HUD. I can't even remember what else was included over the 2LT package, but whatever it was, I didn't want it. HUD is outstanding, I don't even know where my speedometer is .

If I could do it over again, I would get a 2LT and add the HUD, as it is now a pretty common mod. If it's easy enough to add to the Camaro, I will definitely add it to my 1SS. I think it's cool that its standard on 2LT and 2SS, but I think this is something that GM REALLY needs to make as a standalone option across the board, it's too good an option to leave to the highly optioned cars only.

I loved it in my 2004 C5............when I got my 2008 C6, that was the only option I wanted but chose not to pay the extra $4000 for the package. I planned to add aftermarket, but ended up not missing it after all. It's nice to have, but not a necessity.

Had HUD in the last few Corvettes I've owned. Currently have it in my 2008 Z06. Also have Navigation and the Nav. communicates to the HUD when I use it. It will show arrows and such about my next turn and such.
Really like the HUD and those of you that waited will no be disappointed. Corvette navigation, is another story. I don't like it and it's a big waste of $$ compared to the GPS systems you can get for many times less than the Corvette Nav. I have a Tom Tom that I like way better than the Corvette Nav...and I can update the maps over the internet instead of paying a couple of hundred dollars for a new DVD.

My ideal Camaro would be a 2SS RS with HUD, the E-Force SC, and Pedders coilovers. That would be one sweet ride!!!
The tough part would be the color. I like green, white, orange, black, yellow, silver and blue. Then it would be what color stripes to get!!! How do you guys ever decide?

It's a very nice feature to have, especially during "high performance driving". You'll find yourself looking for the HUD when you drive other cars.

I had the HUD in my 99 Vette and loved it. I am very glad that they made it available in the Camaro and future Z28. Come on, a guy has to have something to live for, right?

My first experience with it was on my Dad's C5....I thought it was "gimicky" and didn't have any use for it.

I decided to give it a chance when I got my 04 Z06. Even though it's not as advanced as those on the C6's, I liked it.....a lot! Being able to see a speed & tach readout (and even a shift light) without having to look in the cockpit was great.

I miss it on my SS, being that the speedo & tach are hard for me to easily see with my left hand on top of the steering wheel. Like others said, it would have been nice to have (depending on how much extra), but not a deal breaker......for me at least.

You can vary the information it displays. On mine, I just display the speed and tach.

And I am assuming you have the option of turning this HUD feature completely off when you don't want to use it right?

Is the tach on the HUD in exact timing with the tach on the dash or slower/faster?
