these supercahrger warranties are almost useless in my opinion. there's too many "if's , ands or buts" to hold any concrete proof that they're gonna be there for you should something go south.

now give me a specific story that proves otherwise and I might have a more positive outlook on this.

If you don't alter the tune. If you don't alter the exhaust. If you don't add a shift kit. If you don't get different than stock size tires. If you change the intake. If you don't...........

One of my neighbors had Cummins deny warranty on a spun rod bearing because the PH wasn't right in the coolant. This was on an ag tractor. He broke a heater hose and just added water to get back running. What the hell coolant PH has to do with rod bearings is a mystery to me. Moral is.......it has more to do with the company behind the warranty than anything to do with what the warranty actually states. I think they'll pay or not pay based more on how much revenue this blower generates. If it turns into a cash cow for them, they'll be fairly easy to deal with. If margins are tight, it will be a whole nother story.

Yes, a Chevy dealer can install them. They just need to register with Edelbrock as an installer.

just received my new edelbrock catalog in the mail today.
the E-FORCE s/c has a 100,000 mile "OPTIONAL" warranty.so i guess the warranty will cost extra.
the cost is $6,495.87 for the A6,part # 1597
the cost for the M6 is the same part # 1598
there is a competition s/c kit also part # 1599,but doesn't list a price.

Note that is a manufacturer warranty. It does not mean your factory warranty is still valid if you install the kit.

I was going to post Magnuson's supplemental warranty to show it was the same but their website has been down.

These warranties are thru an insurance carrier. The Edelbrock parts themselves are covered by Edelbrock's warranty.

The reason for no additional mods is simply because the "package" has been durability tested. Start throwing additional parts, customs tunes, higher boost, and the "package" is no longer the same.

I don't think anyone said Edelbrocks warranty was worse that Maggies. I think it's the fact that very few people have gone from bone stock to SC'd. Most people looking for more HP have already installed other mods. It all comes down to what each company considers "acceptable" mods. So far, anything that isn't completely stock will void the warranty, right down to the tire size. Also, ALL maintenance HAS to be done by the Dealership or approved commercial maintenance center and has to be done on via the service manual schedule. There are just too many "outs" for these companies to deny your claim, to make a warranty worth anything. They do look nice for the uninformed though.
