I thought it was my aggressive driving indicator. Mine likes to do the same under hard braking, but the exhaust just sounds so much better with it down that I figured the GM engineers designed it that way to give us a more visceral experience.

Don't they latch? The rear backrest on my 02 has a latch on both corners to prevent this...

Mine latches, next time pull on the sucker after you think it is latched, if it comes down it wasn't latched at all... Mine has never come down and I have had to stop quickly several times...

I had that happen once. I couldn't figure out why the car was suddenly so much louder until I looked in the back seat.

Mine was annoying me to, I need to give it a slam for it to close properly, not a hard slam but I need to give it some force

Mine does this as well. I figure it isn't slammed closed all the way. If I slam on the brakes it flops forward but not all the way down

I've braked about as hard as the car will bake and never had it flop down. If you tug on it after putting it back up and it still does it, then yeah, dealer time.

A little opposite effect here. But on the same subject. When i run at the dragstrip the passenger floormat rolls up to the rear and the sunroof door/cover thing slides back.
