It all depends on how the laws of each state are worded. Some go, "you shall not equip your vehilce" with tint etc etc etc. That way if it's on there, you can get nailed.

Typically anything equipment related on private property is okay. You can still get cited for careless/reckless and DWI etc on prrivate property.

Yea man I live in KY but went to school in VA with a few other friends from KY. Ky will let you have like 10-15% darker tint then Va.

A friends mom was driving him to school (yes at the time we were like 15-16 not legally old enough to drive ourselves) and she had the darkest legal tint in Ky, she got pulled over in Va going to school a total of 3 times. First time was a warning, second time a ticket, third time; He made her PULL THE TINT off of her Tahoe... (same cop pulled her over the last 2 times, all this took place in 2 or 3 weeks time)

That has to be illegal right? I mean some laws like that shouldn't apply to out of state people.

I got to Va often, and for me to be safe (even though I'm outta high school) when I get my car tinted I have to have it tinted legally for Va laws because I don't wanna get a ticket...or worse.

Good point, but why single him out? From the sound of things, he did the burnout next to the others doing burnouts. I think the OP is wondering why he got singled out not that he got a ticket for doing something illegal.

Don't matter what the law allows where you live. It's where you are that matters. Tint may be legal in your state but once you drive into a neighboring state where tint is illegal, you can get a ticket. Same applies to counties and cities.

Try to keep in mind that the "non-enthusiasts" (which may include police) might percieve your spirited driving from a different viewpoint.

if you dont think you can get away with it, wait till no ones around.

I agree but look at it this way, let's say you get a ticket and you live 8 hours away. Are you really going to take off work, get a lawyer, and return to Valdosta for a tint ticket, probably not. If you do it will cost more than the ticket. I believe cooler heads prevailed and someone talked to those two Cops and they cooled their jets, we brought ALOT of MONEY to Valdosta this weekend.

Of course you will have bad apples in every bunch, Cops included. It would have been bad to follow that COP at 130 and then he turn around and give me a ticket even though he motioned us on, but Like I said he was a pretty cool guy.

Maybe they got tired of a bunch of people doing burnouts? That's kinda ignorant, people seem to forget that when you go to someone elses town, that doesn't mean act like an idiot. I'd be pretty pissed if a bunch of vettes came to manchester and were revving their engines and doing burnouts.

I see your point..Ive also been educating myself and reading other threads...Especially the cruise ones..Sounds like there were allot of exceptions taking place. Im all for fun, burnouts, speeding and all that..but all it would take is one mishap and it would all be over with.

Hrm well if this was happening in Georgia then I say we never have the fest over here in Cali because the cops here are... . Cop pulled me over for not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign and he was nice enough to slam me with a tint ticket and a aftermarket CAI ticket. I got the triple ticket woohoo! D!ck.

Yeah he said he had a warrant to look under my hood because my exhaust was loud. Then he threatened me. He said I didnt have an CARB exempt on my CAI so he wrote me a ticket for that.
