He disclosed confidential information. In my opinion, he was fired with just cause. As far as the information and car being to market long ago, that's entirely a different matter.

This is a Camaro Forum not a forum to start fighting in. It is the Moderator's and Admin's job to ensure that all conversation stay on topic for median of the forum. That thread got off topic and destructive far before the 100+ posts and I for one think the right thing was done.

Well in that case, you better get the Mods to start locking up all the political threads around here....

Second, you're right, there are 50+ threads I coud go post in. I'm certainly glad you've given me the "choice". Unfortunately I really didn't have anything to say in those threads. But again, I'm glad I have a "choice".
Every major point had been said, and it was heading in a bad direction. Several complaints had been made already. People were beginning to conclude that 2+2=5. The discussion was getting polarized and was turning into an argument. And the entire topic has been enough of a mess, no need for it to continue.

I think the mods know what they're doing even if we don't always understand all sides of it. Clearly, they had good reason, and I can see why. I trust them and respect their decision to close the thread.

Like I said in the beginning, I meant to make no waves. I have nothing against our Mods at all. In this one instance I just didn't agree with the actions taken. That's all. Forums are all about posting opinions and that's all I was choosing to do.

It's all good.

Same here. Believe it or not, it's the waves that attract the audience. Don't believe it? Take a look at the ratings of Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'reilly.

We have really incredible site leadership here. I'm grateful that threads stay open through some tough exchanges. A thread usually gets closed for good reason. People are allowed to disagree here, which is better than some sites. We have a political forum that allows for opinionated debate about some controversial issues, which is downright impressive and speaks for how our community conducts itself when approached with tough issues.

Some threads just have to be closed. When a personal issue creates conflict between members or when someone posts offensive material, posts and threads have to go. In the area of following the rules, we do a really good job at Camaro5 as a community. Sometimes, one post will go too far and someone will respond inappropriately. Sometimes a thread just gets derailed. It is important for this site to keep discussion on the Camaro, other GM products, competition, and a few other topics. That's why we're all here. This site is, in many ways, a business, and keeping people happy—customer service, if you will—is part of keeping it running. If you went to Foot Locker for groceries, then you can't expect them to sell to you; if you came to Camaro5 to trash-talk GM, which none of us have, then you also can't expect to get what you want. The moderators are just enforcing the rules we all accepted when we joined. They are doing a great job, and I, for one, appreciate their hard work.

Good post Blur but can we at least try and just delete the offensive posts and let others continue with the thread? Some topics are going to be contravercial and people are going to have passionate responses.
