im getting 500 over invoice. im currently #1 at my dealer just have to figure out pricing.

CamaroScotty has earned my business and I will be flying to pick up my camaro from him as I live in South Dakota. He has been one of the dealers with the best information and has contributed a lot to these forums. It's nice to have people that care about the car and not just about profit. The Camaro5 site has also been my home for the last few months and it has been great!! Kudos to everyone for their passion.

just got this email from my dealer:

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro.

We have been informed that as of Monday, October 13, GM's "Quick Order" system will be accepting "bona fide" customer orders for the Camaro. We are still awaiting notification of the amount of orders we will be able to take. Once that number is determined, we will be able to contact interested parties and discuss pricing and mark-up.

If you would like to stop in an drop off a $1,000 check to hold a potential spot in line for an order,
we are open M-F, 9-9,
and Saturday, 9-7.

My direct line is 856-649-1641.

Our New State-of-the-Art Facility insures you will be "Completely Satisfied" with not only
our Sales Department, but our Outstanding Parts and Service Divisions.

To visit, our dealership hours are 9-9 every weekday and 9-7 on Saturday.

Pricing subject to change.

I'm the #1 order first thing Monday morning at a large dealership in Dallas. It doesn't hurt that the General Manager is a friend of mine. I've agreed not to publicly disclose the deal I'm getting, but suffice to say that I'm very fortunate.

There's only one problem with this that I can see. GM's military discount is supposed to be a set price above invoice. It isn't something like "$1000 off MSRP" it is a pre-determined price slightly above invoice, so there's no way that could be combined with $500 below MSRP. It just wouldn't make any sense.

I'd look into that a bit more before making any commitment. Sounds to me like they may be trying to swindle you out of the real military discount.

I did do some question asking and I was wrong. It is ither $500.00 off MSRP or the use of the Millitary discount. I miss understood. I will be going $500.00 off MSRP.
