jajaja, i have 5 bucs that says the sensors are still there

BWT, Discount tires have no idea how to program a TPS on this cars, shame on them but at least they got one thing right, if you move the tires from one side to the other, you will need to re-program.

You can reset the sensor position learn by a scan tool or by the pressure release method.

Your owner's manual has the process to use the DIC and pressure release method. If your horn beeps during that process the sensors are there. The horn beeps when the car recognizes the wheel position you are decreasing the air at.

You need to follow the procedure in the owner's manual and have the DIC set on TPMS relearn mode. The horn will double chirp when your in the mode.

i agree a lot of the guys that work at discount tire are just a bunch of newb HS teenagers. i worked there from when i was 17-21 and i had lots of experience, i was head apprentice tire technician, and knew more stuff about tires and wheels than i wanna know

but a lot of those kids just know how to remove/install tires and balance them! luckily i know how it all works so whenever my cars need tires or rebalancing, i will watch them with my hawk eyes and practically tell them step by step what to do and how to do it!

The new part number "20922900" in the catalog shows "No Inventory Available" when a warehouse search is done. If you use the old number 12768826 there are more than plenty of sensors available for next day order shipping. It shouldn't be a big deal.

Ok, first off not going back to original dealer. I called a different dealer. Called the original dealer to get them to buy me some TPMS sensors. That said.

Went out the the car, turned the key on but not running. Car asked me to re-learn the sensors. I selected yes. Horn honked twice, said learning. When it was done all 4 wheels showed -- for tire pressure. No psi. So what does that mean?

after it honked twice, did you let air out starting with the driver side until it honked again and then go to the passenger front, let air out, honk, go to passenger rear, let air out, honk, go to driver rear, let air out, honk and then its done?

No I didn't. Have to wait to get home then I guess. Don't want to let the air out and be low driving home. How much air do you have to let out?

SO are you saying I can do all this myself and don't need to take it to the dealer for programming? They want $60. Also, from what I've done so far, are we sure the sensors are in there?

All yourself. Usually takes a couple of pounds to trigger the sensor, then you move to the next tire. You follow the sequence - starting from driver's side front tire, passenger's front, passenger rear, driver's rear.

It's all in the manual. Hopefully you didn't shoot off too quickly at the dealer...

If it says -- there are no sensors in the wheels. And yes the sensors have to be programmed so they tell you if it is left rear, right rear, front right, front left. If you do not do that then they all fight as to which wheel they report to the DIC.

Yeah. Think I did.

I guess what had me believe that is that I had the wheels on before and it didn't do this. Weird.

It is far easier to let the air out of each tire to get it to learn than it is for your to try and pump air in.

By the way, get your pump out of the trunk and pump it up to the proper level once you learn the sensors.

The first tire you learn is the drivers front, followed by passenger front, and then the passenger rear, then ending at drivers rear.

The turn signal for the tire it is expecting to learn is illuminated for each tire by the way. All I did was to switch my car to the on position without the engine running to learn it.

Hope that helps.

i don't think they woulda taken the time to break down every one of your tires to steal the sensors.

mine have the sensors and my valve stems are black rubber lookin ones.

i have seen the older ones looked like bolt-on valve stems which are all metal with no rubber. the sensors on our cars might be the kind that wrap around the middle of the wheel, but i have not personally seen my wheels with the tires off.

not sure how much air has to be let out since the only time i reprogrammed the tpms sensros, it was with the calibration tool. discount tire has the tool, if there is one near you just drive up there and ask them to relearn the sensors for you, they do free air checks, so they shouldn't charge you.

It is about 10 - 15 seconds per tire.
