That was because it was originally an SS reconfigured to look like an LT/RS.

My question is, can't you just replace the headlamps with the HID's? How much could that possibly cost?

Wait for the aftermarket. They have HID's for 4th gens so I'm sure we will be able to get them as well!

Just to clarify, you are talking about the red car that was at Indy. It looked like an RS but had a V8. I asked Scott if I could buy it because it would make a great sleeper!

And halos, and the interior switches to turn the halos on, plus wiring - if you want halos of course... otherwise about $400 for a quality HID retrofit kit, $250 for a cheap one

Wait.... I thought the SS/RS would have a Red RS badging? From all the pictues I've seen anyway. I really hope your right!

HID kits for the G8 are $140. I'm not sure what to do. I ordered a 2SS with polished 20's but I really want HIDs and the tail lamps. I figure I'll get both of those afterwards.

Just a reminder to anyone thinking about getting aftermarket HID's - your car will look nothing like the factory RS cars:

A) You will not have the Halo lights
B) Your DRL's will still be the signal lights when factory RS cars will have the fog light DRL's
c) Any retro fit of the factory set-up will be a nightmare since it also requires a special headlamp switch to handle headlights, parking lights and halos.

It's a very reasonably priced option from GM. If you want it, go for it!

I'm positive - all RS/SS cars will have red SS badging. They'll match your stripes!

The HID's are cool, but I want polished wheels also. I'm not paying $1,200 for what will essentially be only for HID's and slightly darker tail lamps.
