Okay if they debuted with a 350hp SS and a 430hp z28, would you then consider that the Camaro program was complete. Would you then have bought the Z28? You said you have many previous camaros do any of them have anywhere near 422hp?

The Camaro is everything I was looking for, except for a few very minor details. I bought the 2SS/RS and plan to make it my own.

Although, if I had the money and one of every generation Camaro in my garage, i'd have bought a Vette too!...then held out for a 2nd or 3rd year 5th generation.

Does anyone feel like GM gave us a Camaro and not the whole package? I am not trying to start a fight or degrade the car, this is just how I feel. I ended up feeling that way after the pricing came out unfortunately. To top it all off i went by the pontiac/GMC dealership, and what do you know, there is a '05 LS2 GTO sitting there. Everything i want in a car is right there, and it is listed at 17k with 23k miles on it. It has really tested my loyalty. I would absolutely LOVE a camaro, but the more i look at it, it just looks a little too expensive for what i want. I guess i'll just have to wait it out and see. If i could find a camaro for that same price at the same type of specs (couple years old, low mileage, it would be a no brainer.

It is a little heavy, but it's still the best performing, best built Camaro ever. How can you be dissapointed with that. I don't understand why people thought a supercharged version would be out the first year anyway. Besides, you can always put an aftermarket supercharger on it. Sounds to me like you're getting older and wanted an upgrade to the Corvette, it just feels weird cause you're so used to having Camaro's. You feel like you cheated on your wife. Seriously though, there's nothing to be ashamed of by having a Corvette.

Hold off for aftermarket. I don't mean stuff that you have to put on. I mean from dealers that want to offer up special editions. You will be able to buy from those types of dealers...as long as they ahve allocation.

I also agree with u totally, except I haven't bought a Corvette yet. I also left Indy very dejected. Great post

I don't really understand a couple of things, call me stupid.....Going to Indy everyone knew that there was NOT going to be a Z28 made, at least in the near future.....It's hard to tell what the future may hold, but right now it's a no go.........

You didn't say if the vette was new or used and what model it was C5 C6.....However as of right now the Camaro with the manual has more HP than the base C6 and only 8 less than the C6 with the Z06 exhaust.....Correct me if I'm wrong.......

Now with the Vette being 15-20k more than lets say your 1SS I would think thats a better deal of the two. That leaves a whole lot more for upgrades........

I'm not bashing Vettes, love them and own one. Blast to drive.

The thing that I don't understand is everyone is upset that GM is not producing a high HP car. I don't recall GM offically make that statement. It was all speculation.
