Not to mention the pipes are perfectly mirrored from side to side. UNLIKE the factory pipes which have different bends in different area's!

Love my Solo. Now that it's broken in it sounds even better.

Exhaust is like food, everyone has a different taste. To me SOLO is right in the middle, with a perfect tone and volume.

These guys with the V6 don't have AFM, do they?

Hey, I may need to post this elsewhere but I thought I would throw out what I did.

I have the Solo exhaust for the manual...like others I loved the sound but thought just a tad noisy in the cabin- especially on my long drive to and from Camaro5Fest. My wife really did not like the loudness.

I contacted Don Sambrook of www.sounddeadenershowdown.com and he set me out with sound dampening material. Basically a placed CLD tiles, then a layer of foam glued to a layer of vinyl on top. It has a very finished look and with the trunk mat you can't tell anything is there. It's all completely removable as well- my cost including shipping was under $150.

It works really well- I used a decible app on my Droid (I know not the most accurate but gave me something to measure and Scrming wants his numbers ) It went from 65dB before to around 52bB after. Don't get me wrong- you can definitely hear it but a lot more appeasing in my opinion.

Here are some pics:
*of note- the last pic shows a CLD tile installed by GM on our Left quarter panels

Nope, My Bad. I keep doing that. It is the downfall of using the "new Posts" button above!

If you mean the CLD tiles, the best way it was described to me was the "knock" test- you knock you fist on different areas and if you get a good metal ringing you place a tile. They only need to go on flat areas as really curved areas don't resonate as much.

It was pretty impressive how the placement of the tiles made a knock go from "CLANG!" to "THUMP".

If you mean the mat, I just covered the entire trunk to start because there was no way I was going to pull up the carpet in the interior and place mats in there.

I really do recommend this stuff. Don was great at taking the time to explain everything I needed and how to do it. All I had to do was send him the measurements of my trunk and he figured out all of the amounts of materials.

Nice! I'd just like to add to this (in case anyone is curious) that covering the entire trunk area apparantly is not necessary to make an effective change in sound. I thought I read somewhere on here that that really only covering up to 25% (or crucial areas) is really all that is needed.

The 25% coverage is for the CLD tiles. For the vinyl/CCF mat, you need 100% coverage of the area you want to do.

Here's my fix to fine-tune the Solo Mach XL for the V6 M6. Added XLT resonators from Steve at Solo, video embedded in this thread:

Well, The trash cans are GONE today The solo exhaust is fantastic !
The v6 has a really nice sound that is only loud when you jump an it
Took less than an hour to install and is a quality product.
Back outside to take a cruise around the block and wake up the dogs !
