It makes me sad that some of you are looking at a 2SS straight out of college. I don't think I'll be able to afford my 2SS RS until about 3 years after I graduate.

One advantage of getting a commission at the exact time you graduate; you have a decent guaranteed salary.

I won't be buying one immediately after graduation, but a couple of months later I'll start looking.

Plus I have an '07 Mustang that ought to get decent trade-in value.

I worked my ass off all through college so I wouldn't have student loans and gained experience while doing so. Corporate America values higher education and my paycheck is reflecting that.

I'm becoming convinced that corporate America doesn't value the diploma anymore, instead putting a negative value on not having the diploma. A college diploma has become necessary, not outstanding, to corporate employers.

It's worth noting that Lincoln was a degenerate redneck who couldn't win an election and couldn't graduate from college, especially at today's standards, and turned out to be one of America's best presidents.

A college diploma opens doors. It gets you into a company and a career. Then it is up to you to excel and move into your desired position. I agree, not having a degree makes it very easy to be forgotten in most companies.

Did you are the dealer if they were going to accept it. It should matter when the time comes to sign the papers. I made sure the dealer was willing to accept it before I put down my deposit.

I don't understand it either and I won't have a single loan to pay off/family to take care of. I graduate in May but by the time I move out of state, find an apartment, and establish job security, it'll be December 2009. But on the bright side, there will be more Camaro options, availability, and a new model year to choose from.
