May 2009 I test drove one no questions asked... They did ride along but whatever. I ordered from them a few days later...
Test drives are readily available, if they say no at a dealership then just ask for another salesperson. Dont even leave the dealership. It will really frost the first guy that you dumped him. Always remember the saleperson works FOR YOU... not the other way around. Good luck. |

Sorry dude im trying hard to believe you that u cant get a test drive with over 120k of these cars out there now. Myself i test drove 3 models before pulling the trigger waaaay back in the summer in Canada which was 1000x harder to find a test ride then the US. Go to the GM web site use your zip code and have it list dealers with-in 50 miles or so from you. U will have lots of choice's.

Don't get me wrong I love the look of the Challenger. Would love to have one in the garage right next to the Camaro. It is all up to what you want, if you want the best perfpormance for the buck it is the Camaro hands down. You will have to go to the SRT-8 to come close to the SS and it stickers for well over 40 grand.

Never had any problems getting a test drive at any of the 2 dealers I went to. I might suggest omitting the unemployed part for better results however.

I test drove a Challenger R/T last year while trying to find a dealership that had a Camaro in stock (May, 2009). It was a nice car, don't get me wrong, but somewhat big and bulky for me. Found a Camaro, weren't making Cyber Gray yet last May, so I ordered one sight unseen. Price is what swayed me.
I never thought I'd be in a 2SS/RS LS3, Rally Stripes, Sunroof for $36k OTD. Couldn't touch the R/T for under $40k and the SRT8 was $48k. We'll probably be able to get a Z28 for that much. Again, nice looking ride, but Camaro hands-down FTW.. It was the right choice for me.. Lori |

Yeah, but did the Challanger's big trunk have a glow-in-the-dark emergency latch marked with a dude jumping out the back "OG" style?

When I went to look at the ZL550 they did not have one on the lot. I did not anticipate them letting me test drive it if they did. The dealer offered me a test drive with the Callaway. He also told me that if they had the ZL on the lot they would have had me driving it as well. When I bought my 08 Challenger SRT8 they were not allowing test drives. Luckily my brother bought one 2 days earlier and let me drive it.
As far as Challenger vs. Camaro. My opinion is if you are looking more for comfort in the ride the Callenger is the way to go. If you are looking for the sporty ride then the Camaro is the choice. I love both cars and will not be getting rid of either anytime soon. i just wish I had more time to drive them both. |

I was able to test drive an SS before I bought mine. Supposedly they usually only do test drives with the salesman behind the wheel, but I was able to drive it around instead with him in the backseat, lol.

They refuse to let you guys drive one? I drove one the first time I asked and that was back in November 09. After driving it nothing felt as great as the Camaro...so I got one

Something is wrong - I test drove two Vettes and two Camaros at my dealer and they didn't even ask for ID first. I think you need to try another dealer.
