Unless someone can show me a picture of a brand new 1969 RS/Z at a car dealership with an RS emblem in the grill, I'll never believe it.

Way to bring back a dead thread. I thought we had agreed in another thread of the same topic that it was correct.

I think you might be right KAHLIS. I believe I've heard that before.

They first need to show a new Z/28 before a Z/RS.

I didn't beleive it first myself, but like I said, someone started the debate on nastyz28.com almost 5 years ago probably, and someone showed a picture and had factual info.

Guess I kinda hi-jacked the thread. Back to the topic,...

Interesting you should mention this. I have a friend whose Camaro is titled as a '66 and he has the original selling documentation from the original owner that confirms it. It was a very early build. It was a base, 6 cyl car with a tilt column. Nothing else.
Cool beans, eh?

If you are going to correct people you need to use the correct name, it was called an Enduraflex bumper or Endura for short. It was not plastic/ fiberglass, it was Polyeurethane over a steel bumper.
Here is a video I found of the 68 GTO with it.

more info on the Camaro bumper
12,650 1969 Camaros were ordered with the RPO VE3 Endura bumper. It wasn't tied to any specific package, it was available as a separate option. Considering there were 243,085 regular production 69's built, the number of Camaros with Endura bumpers comes to about 5% of the total.

Bumper Endura Front Bumper 1969 Camaro

Reproduction of the original 1969 urethane front bumper. This superb quality reproduction is manufactured in the USA! This special bumper was designed as an alternative to the chrome bumper and offers a tapered high performance appearance. The bumper was originally painted the same color as the body with high gloss acrylic laquer

My '69 Z/28 came new with the Endura front bumper painted Rallye Green to match the body. You did not see a lot of the Endura bumpers, but I liked the look.

The owner of this car has the images of the car at the dealer with both the Z/28 and RS Badges on the car.

The Camaro registry group has been re-evaluating their stance on both badges being correct or not based on this car.

This car is not the only car that had both badges, but it is the most public one because of the Auction.

For now, the debate runs on...

I think most everyone is aware of the standard factory emblem placement, what this car purports to show is an alternate emblem placement that was done early on prior to the standard placement we are all familar with.

It was Granada Gold, but it now sports a V8 and is teal with black stripes.
I get to have his old 6 cyl engine for spare parts for my Gold, 6 cyl, '67 Convertible.
