Yea, I feel so embarrassed driving my dad's Chevrolet Station Wagon. I don't know what year it is, but I just DON'T want to drive it anymore. And my Yaris...well...it's a yaris. I want to have a car that everybody will be staring at for a while.

I will wave to Gen5s, at least for the first few months. If I see you the first few months then I know you're one othe lucky enthusiasts like me that got to order from day one. That will separate us from the average buyer. That should last for a while before the streets are saturated with Camaro owners that know nothing of the history or heritage of the car they are driving. If you're driving a Camaro and I see you wave of course i'll wave back.

Some of them here do although...
I think you have it flip-flopped. Mustang forum posters seem to be much worse. Most people here acknowledge the Mustang as a decent car, but that the Camaro is just better. Mustang forums seem to just scream "Crapmaro sux!!1!!1"

When the new body style for the Mustang is revealed, then the true colors of this community will show.

Back on topic, of course I'll wave to other Camaro owners! All of the cars will be beautiful, so there's no reason not too! A Camaro, is a Camaro.

I don't wave at other camaro or mustang owners, but when I'm on the bike I always give the "biker" wave.

as a C5 owner, I wave at all Corvettes... and as a Camaro owner, I wave at all Camaro and Firebirds... but only the Vette guys wave back... never understood why the Vette guys wave, but they're generally stuck up in person... and the Camaro guys dont wave, but they're super cool in person.

It's funny, I've had Corvette drivers wave...while I'm driving the Malibu.

Maybe it transcends car models? I've also noticed that domestic drivers, Chevys, Buicks, Fords, Dodges, are generally more courteous to each other around here. Can't tell you how many times an import has flat out refused to let me out of a driveway but the domestic behind does.

Same... when I drove the 69. Now I wave at them and they hide their face. But on the positive side every Honda with a muffler waves at me

Initially PT Cruiser owners did the same thing (I bought a new PT back in Aug 2000 and took delivery in Jan 01). Then as thousands starting showing up and changing hands the practice died.

I'm also a vette owner (have been since 1972) and for the most part vette owners will wave at each other. But that practice seems to be dying too with so many leases etc where you now have owner’s who are not "enthusiasts".

The world doesn't come to end if a wave is missed/ignored.

I would think Camaro guys giving the finger is because of how long we have been without the Gen 5. If times today where like when I was younger there would be alot of SS owners getting GT's pinks slips. But I don't think people drag race on city streets like we did when I was young.

Very few Camaro owners wave to each other around here unfortunately. I've tried to get it going but I find many Camaro owners aren't enthusiasts and are just going from A to B and don't even notice you going by.

I used to own a German sports car (which will remain nameless) and everyone waved at everyone, no exceptions. Even the guys who were driving the 150K cars were waving at the guys driving the beat up 10K cars.

I don't notice a lot of Camaro owners in this area waving to others. Having not driven my car very much for the last couple years could be a result of me just not being in one to see it though. Most of the time, I'll give a thumbs-up to other Camaros (and other nice cars too for that matter.)
