I could also get the order changed by cancelling it and placing a new one, but I do not want to give up the original confirmation number or "my place in line" in case it does have any effect on when I get delivery.

had the same issue on the 14th - I wanted to change my order from the 13th.
I work for the dealer and we had to deal with tech support. They couldn't give us an answer. Was adding Iom - had to delete my first order and resubmit!

That is exactly what I heard from the district sales manager when I went in. He was saying, the way he understood it was, that once all the orders are finally submitted for production they are put into groups by type, and region. For example, if there were a large amount of Black SS's slated for shipment to the west coast, they would supercede lesser orders. Not sure if it's true, but it made sense at the time.

So you actually have to cancel and resubmit your order....you can't go in and alter it at all??? I am a bit leary of cancelling and resubmitting....

OK guys, I got my fax today with my updated order. . I didn't loose my place in line. . How do i know this, well it says right on the form. "age of order - 5 days".

I emailed my dealer to see what all they had to do to get the order changed. . haven't heard back.

Evotion - good info. First time I've seen "logic-based" info being passed along. The info you got falls in line with what I understand about the production line process. It's GM's priority to balance the distribution across the country; however, work within the capacity of the factory. They'll run the line by color based on the number of paint booths available (3? 4? 5? more?)...and I don't think there is one for each color, they balance the usage based on color demand. Then they'll run comparable models to make the line more productive and to balance the receipt of the necessary parts. I'm going to guess that the first ones run will be those with the RS packages due to similarities in options and equipment and popularity...and even those will be run in batches by color, etc.

Rock on...your order position at the dealer will have no ultimate bearing on the delivery date of your Camaro. Just relish in the SWAG that we'll all be in the first batch by Memorial Day weekend.

UPDATE - OK, I went back and reread the GM info in the Ordering Workbook. The initial allocation is based on anticipated deliveries through Q3-2009 - the period from 2/15/09 (start of production) through 9/30/09 - a 33 week period. I also learned that the factory is preparing for a 50/50 split between SS and LT models (8 cyl/6cyl) and that GM projects the majority of orders for the V6. Given what I've seen on this site, there may be a bust in the projections and the V6's may come off first because the engine shop will be geared up properly and there may be a shortage of the V8's. Time will tell.

I would also like anyone who has been able to change their order by adding the polished wheels to the RS package to post up.

My dealership was aware last week that I wanted to do this if possible, and so I went by there yesterday, and they said that GM told them that the RS package would NOT be updated with polished wheels, and that was a myth.
They said they (GM) were not affiliated with this website, or the um, other Camaro website, and that as far as they were concerned, it would not be happening.

They wanted my dealer to get the thread links from me, and fax them over, they opened up a case # and everything with this issue.

I want to know if someone has been able to add the Q9J option to their order WITH the RS package. If so, PM me the dealership name and info, and proof of your order sheet. This is bugging the crap out of me, with GM admin. telling my dealership this, and these websites telling me other wise.

No one has been able to give me a straight answer on this.

Caution.......when your order is in "Preliminary #1100" changes can be made..but once it goes to "Placed #2000" changes will lose your spot in line(.)....Good Luck !...Ken

Successfully changed my order today, but just a warning...I was told in a couple weeks orders will be very difficult to change so if you want to add/delete something do it now.

I was able to add the BA sound system to my 1SS for $495. The things I was unable to add was the Shorty Headers, Exhaust, Intake and 4 pack guages (no pricing available...as of now a dealer installed option).
