Personally I like that they come with the bow tie on them...I don't remember seeing the bow tie on the standard engine cover.
that is the cover for the v6

So what is the dealer going to do?

Are they going to have one ready to put on your car, will they have to order you one, or will they want to paint the one that is already on the car when it comes in?

I really do like the look of the painted engine cover....

it depends...if you ordered the painted cover option, it will be delivered to the dealership with your car and the dealer will switch it out for you. If you didn't order your car with the body color engine cover option, then your car will be delivered to the dealership with the plain gray cover. You will then have to order the painted one through the parts department and wait for it to come in and pay them to switch it out, or pay the body shop to paint the one that came with your car.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, so it will be delivered with the car....does that go for any dealer option that I order???

This may be dumb to ask...but...if I did order the painted engine cover, and the dealer switches it out, do I get to keep the one that came on the car???

I would think so...since you are paying for both of them.

Well, just wanted to be SURE...

I am adding that option...along w/ the car cover...if you say that stuff will be delivered w/ the car, I am doing it!!

Now, just need to find a chance to go back to the dealer to go over this stuff....I was very concerned about losing 'place in line'....

I'm not saying you're wrong but I've been told by my local dealer that the prices include the credit that you are given from the old parts which would mean that you don't get to keep the old parts.

Maybe so......but I don't have much faith in what dealers say....

We should be able to keep the part that comes on the car....if not, that would mean $285 plus the old cover....I don't THINK so!!!

I will find a way to keep it, if that turns out to be the case

After adding this option today, I asked my dealer about being able to keep the factory cover, and they said I would be able to keep it, no problem....let's hope that doesn't change...

Go to AutoZone, buy a five dollar can of DupliColor clear coat and a five dollar can of whatever color you want. Top it off with a Scotch Brite pad and you can have a painted engine cover for less than fifteen bucks.
