Verts aren't meant to look great with the top up. Even the XLR with a hardtop looks wayyyyyy better with the top down. Camaro is the same way.

I know my Sky looks pretty sad with the top up too. But down? mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

So do ALL convertibles end up having the "ribs" showing through the top eventually or is it possible to actually make a top that stays smooth when it's up?

This is the main thing with my decision - so many cars with the tops that look like they're "malnourished" because those things stick through the material so badly...

Some folks are not concerned about the weight of the camaro. The rag top is always heavier as they have to bulk the frame to stiffen it.

Scotty, how long is your convertible list? I've been talking to local dealers and being from California, most are telling me to expect mark-ups at all local dealers (he swears they all talk and are marking them up to stay competitive with each other.)

I've only had one dealership talk about cutting me a break on the mark up because I've been coming in for 5 years talking about and waiting for the convertible... but getting that in writing could be tough. Let me know...

Rafcon, which dealers have you been talking to? I haven't even bothered my dealer (lately) because it just didn't make sense until more information about the Vert came out (e.g., trim levels, potential color changes/limitations, pricing, etc.)

In January when I attended the Motortrend Car Show (San Jose) where Fbodfather (Scott) hosted a meet/greet. He had indicated that we would have pretty definitive information about the model offering by the end of the 1st Quarter 2010 (April at the latest) and pricing around July with orders being accepted in the Fall/October timeframe. But nothing and that is what is getting so frustrating about the wait. At least with the coupe when information started being released it gave people the time to start figuring out what options they wanted and what pricing they could afford.

And almost like the coupe they aren't touring a pre-production vert for people to see. Only the concept vert was previously on the car show circuit so who knows what changes or similarities will be to the coupe vs. vert concept on the production model. I know to assume that most everything will be identical to the coupe but certain things like the placement of the driver and front passenger seat seat belts will need to change. I'm hoping they use the design from the vert concept.
