With the TC turned off in my 2002 she's a furious, tire-shredding monster that gets all disrespectful with my 285/35 Pilot Sports, and your gen 5 has at least 30hp on me. You should have no problem burning out, might want to have her checked out.

(Dumb question, but she's past the break-in point right?)
trust me, these cars will lay some serious rubber down right out of the factory. at least mine did

Sounds like time for a line lock. Also remember it is hotter now, the rear tires are going to be sticky and sticking hard even if brake standing. Sounds like your are overpower the front brakes with the rears grabbing pavement.

Naw, put some Armor-all on the back rotors, or you can pinch off the rear brake lines to disable the back brakes and hold the car with the front brakes and spin those $465.00 per wheel tires down to the carcasses.

Have you taken it in for service recently? I'm wondering if GM has started putting brake overrides in all there cars yet? I know they made a statement that all cars with an automatic transmission would be getting one installed by a certain date. Not sure if it was a retroactive thing, but that would explain if it's cutting power.

I have done the fuse pull once before and I always run premium gas. It has not been in for a service since the first oil change in November i think.

My first response was a joke. I have trouble with my 1SS leaving a red light and NOT spinning the tires. If you can't just jump on the gas and break em loose, you have a problem. Secondly, WTF are you doing breaking them loose with the brake pedal locked down? Are you trying to trash your Brembos? Bring the revs up to 1500 in M with the brake locked, quickly remove your foot from the brake and they will start spinning and at the same time floor it. Do not break em loose with the brake on!

What's all this talk of using the brake. Only cars with no power need the brake to get a burn out started. I do them all the time starting from a roll and mashing the gas. Most of the time I have to start in second so I don't run up in the rev limiter. Sounds like something is wrong.
