I haven't tried this method. Obviously, it must work.

But, what I do is turn the car on after oil change, use the little handle on the left of the steering wheel that lets you click your way to oil life % in the DIC, and then I just hold the reset button all the way at the end of the handle for a few seconds, and it resets to 100%.

both methods work. the gas pedal is just the original way of doing it back with the LS1 maros/birds and other LS series GM vehicles.
