the leather seats are so easy to remove, more than likely when they start to get bad i will just replace the leather. and i see alot of people are taking off their leather seat so it shouldnt be that much.

Just curious what anyone here thinks, or has done.... thanks!
I agree with your husband. You got leather to FEEL the leather. When they get worn down, just buy another set! It really is as simple as that.

No covers here.

Why protect it for the next owner.

You can buy new covers if your get worn-out.

Just My 2 cents.

Keep them clean - -use a leather conditioner with regularity -

(caution: Demin Jeans are a leather seat's enemy - very abrasive....)

I had a sporting motorcycle and I put a bra on the fairing. A friend asked me what was wrong with my fairing and I told him that I wanted to protect the paint. He said this to me, "Why don't you enjoy the nice new paint because you paid for this brand new motorcycle. When you are done with it and ready to trade it in, then put a bra on it. Why should the second owner enjoy the new paint and not you?" This made perfect sense to me. Seat covers are good to cover damaged upholstery. Besides, all of the chafing of the covers against your seats will wear out the upholstery anyways.

What a wise thing to say...I bet most of us never thought of it that way....same thing should apply to most things we own...what are we 'saving it for', anyway?!...WE should be the ones getting the maximum enjoyment of our 'stuff'...

Seat covers are not recommended on cars with the new airbags. There are pads in the seats that sense the weight of the occupant so as to adjust the inflation of the bags. Also many seats have the airbags in the side bolsters of the seat so you can not cover them.

I just got my new 2SS/RS, and passed my '99 Z28 with 14000 miles on to my brother. The "leather areas" of the seats were just fine! I do cover the car while at work in the summer (Central Coast, CA).

love my leather and wouldnt want covers rubbing on them. my drivers side left bolster is sagging on the black part a little. no signs of wear on the orange parts though. wife just gouged her drivers side leather seat with a studded belt or something, might have to cover that.

Just enjoy the leather! Putting some seat covers on could actually be more abrasive than your jeans.

Leave it as is. After 10 months and 19k miles my leather is still in great shape. I use Zaino leather cleaner and conditioner to help maintain it. Takes very little effort and time.
