I would think the dead pedal comes with both the auto and manual.
they are quite nice for long distance freeway cruising.

my sierra don't have a dead pedal, but the body control module is almost a perfect substitute. beats accidentally riding the clutch.

Driver Side Dead Pedal

Just ordered my 2SS/RS Automatice today. Now the waiting really starts.
Was reading through the equipment list and noted a "driver side dead pedal" item. Can someone enlighten me, as to what this is?

Much thanks,

its an area behind where the Parking brake in your pickup is that you can put your foot down on without resting your foot on the brake or clutch.

Dead pedal
From Wikipedia

Dead pedal on far left In an automobile, the dead pedal is located to the left of the other pedals. Unlike the throttle, brake or clutch pedal, the dead pedal does not move and is not connected to anything. The dead pedal can serve several important purposes:

It acts as a foot rest for the left foot.
In cars with manual transmissions, it helps keep the driver from riding the clutch.
It helps brace the driver whilst performing extreme maneuvers.

I was aware of the space, just never the fact that it had a specific name and needed to be itemized in the equipment list. its like saying the the floor mats have special pads to rest your heels, while driving.

I guess I won't have to rest my left foot on the dash any more. LOL

thanks to all for responding.

heres to the camaro brotherhood

Oddly enough some cars don't have it. I find it a bit funny too to call out on the equipment list, especially when there are so many other noteworthy features, but now we can all sleep sound at night knowing our left feet will have a place to rest.

That was a real concern for me wondering what I was going to do with my left foot besides hang it out the window and let it get some air.
