I like them, personally -- I felt everything fit together well, and the chrome bezels were a good way to separate the lights from the body panel, providing some contrast and depth. They could have put nothing, or maybe even the gunmetal plastic (see: guage surrounds) from the interior...but I don't think it would have looked half as impressive. And as far as no other chrome on the car...there's chrome-outlined bowties, chrome surrounding the RS and SS badging, and a few chrome touches on the interior like the stereo, and SS badging, etc. There's very little chrome used on this car, true, but the little that was used all in the right places, imo.

I agree, the chrome trim looks good on silver and looks to be standard on all models tail-lights.. I think it looks good on the silvers and blacks but on the yellow RS it looks out of place for some reason.. I think it looks much better if it was a flat silver as found on the Bumblebee concept for the yellow color..

I hadn't thought about the clean-up after a wash though. That's a good point too, LOL. I think it's worth it though, because they don't stand out like a sore thumb and are pretty tasteful, IMVHO.

Corvette guys had it worse than us with the new C6's, eventually the aftermarket came in with a rubber seal which was a nice solution to the problem. But it was a pain to keep the back clean.

II was thrilled beyond belief when the cars were unveiled and I saw the chrome trim. That was the one cosmetic change I definitely would've made had they been the previously seen flat finish. I think chrome in that spot is a perfect balance - they stand out without being blingy.

especially considering other then badging that is the only spot with any chrome

Yeah....I'll find a pic of the scratch my leaf blower left on my M3...NOT PRETTY and I don't recommend. I'm cautious and still don't know what the heck went through the blower and hit the paint...but it scratched it to the primer.

I would rather deal with surface scratches and hand dry than risk that crap again....

+1 I really wish the bezels around the tach, speedo and console gauges were chromed out. LOVE the car, but I would love to see this on the list of things to tweak as later model years are introduced.

I'm not, I actually want them to match the rest of the dash, but thats just me...

Chrome FTW. Just look at the sig. Love chrome....but not too much...you can go overboard with is.

I think from what we've seen so far, there is nothing to complain about at all.
