I wish someone from GM would read this and give us some information.

This doesn't quite make sense.

I got my car in September 2009. I have another set of TPMS sensors, wheels and tires. 43192

My factory installed TPMS sensors are on my winter wheels and tires. I bought the OEM sensors. Two from Ebay, and two from Rodgers Chevrolet. They are currently on my car, and have been there since March with no issue.

Now I did have a problem in march with setting the TPMS, as the left rear (last tire) did not want to take, and it wasn't until the 3rd cycle that I got it working.

Is it because I programmed my TPMS by letting air out of each tire, verses having the dealer use another tool?

I should have the problem if what is said is true, based on the vin cut off. Darth_emma shouldn't have the problem because her car is newer than mine.

Shuttduck, you have it backwards. It seems older cars and older sensors are less likely to have the pairing issues. Not having one wheel pair up is usually a signal or reset issue, that is something completely different. This only addresses the tendency for paired sensors to suddenly stop communicating with the TPMS system and dropping off.

I use an electronic TPMS reset device, any good tire store should have one. Seeing how the Govt is mandating that all vehicles have these sensors, it is probably a good tool for some of you to add to your collection. Saves you a few trips to the tire store or dealership. I got mine for under $200. Looks like this one:

No I think I have it right. Mine is a newer car. It has the newer rear window seal, but was one of the last built before the GM badge of excellence and the ambient lighting in the dash plugs were removed.

I'm also missing the rear backup sensors.

Anyhow, I bought the TPMS sensors in February. The part number I had was replaced from what was on GMpartsdirect.com

I set the TPMS through the car computer rather than anything else.

I do have OEM wheels, OEM sensors, and OEM tires though.

That is the exact part number I picked up today for my car. The parts manager ordered them based on my VIN. Nine Ball seems to think they won't work with my car's system and that I should probably take the TPMS out of my stock wheels and use those.

So, I think I'll return these sensors to my chevy dealer on monday and use the sensors out of the stock wheels.

I wish I didn't have to take the stock wheels apart to do this, but I really want the TPMS system to work properly in my car.

What are the last 6 digits of your VIN?

Thanks. That VIN cutoff I mentioned above is not guaranteed, it was only an assumption based on a related GM bulletin. Until we know the exact facts, it will be impossible to know when the 314.9 sensors came into play.

Nine Ball:
I looked at the TPMS sensors that I bought from the dealer yesterday - Part number 12768826. It says on the sensor itself "315 MHz." I just wanted to let you know.

When I have my stock wheels taken apart and they remove the sensors, I will ask the guys at the shop to look at them to see if they say 314.9 MHz.

Fingers crossed! That would be excellent if they say the Mhz on the OEM sensors, making it easier for people to know what they need.
