Buy a 2SS and use the extra cash for mods. Much more gratifying if you get to choose what goes under the hood IMO

I'd wait for the Z/28. I know there are some people here that have the test vehicle out and running. Could be as early as next years model...this would also allow you time to invest some of that money

Redline!

Buy your Camaro from DeNooyer in Schenectady, NY. They have their own performance shop, Redline MotorSports. For that kind of lucre you can get a full engine upgrade to 620HP, re-do of the suspension, brake system....The options are frickin' limitless. AND because the dealer is doing it and with all GM parts, you'll never void your warranty.
I know it's a bit of a trip, but look into it.

Depends on what you are expecting out of car. I personally bought a 2SS/RS and did all the mods myself (meaning I bought what I wanted and found a shop to install) because I was going to have Hennessey or Lingenfelter do the car but I saved literally $15k for not using the name. Don't get me wrong, both are great companies and you wont be diappointed but I just took the time to price everything out and by saving $15k I could careless about the name or warranty as with the extra cash I can fix anything that might break. This is just my opinion but everyone to their own.

Just my opinion, buy a 2SS/RS fully loaded with everything you want. Pay cash so you dont have payments obviously! Then put the rest of the money in an account just for your Camaro, as mods you see that you want come along take the cash and have it done. I wouldn't go all out right away just so you can spread out the modding and fun over a long time!
