Any more pics of lowered camaros?
There should be enough info on the install spread sheet to make the initial height calculations to get to this level or seriously close the first time.

For accuracy sake, here are a couple of things to review:

1. Making sure the Camaro is being measured on a level surface is important. Some driveways and streets especially you can get a 1/2 variation side to side without much effort. So measuring on a level service is important

2. Once on a level ground, pay particular attention to the measurements side to side. It is normal to have upwards of 10mm side to side on the fronts especially. I have found this is not the OE springs but how the vehicle is put together. I think GM gives you nearly 5/8 of an inch tolerance side to side.

3. With say a 5mm height variation on the front side to side, you can easily compensate for this by changing the presets 5mm difference side to side. For example, if the left front is 5mm lower than the right front, then when doing your presets, add 5mm to the preset on the left or lower the right 5mm. Doing this process, I have been within 1-2mm every time, which is the personal tolerance I give myself. Now 2mm is about 1/8 of an inch. You need to be in the 1/2 range for the average eye to see the differences side to side

4. Adjusting height presets is different side to side. On the front, there is a ratio of about 1 to 1 height adjustment to actual ride height. On the back, however, is different, which is due to the location of the strut mounting. The back ride height will move less than the ride height adjust, ment. The change figfference is a result of where the struts are mounted to the control arms in comparison. So for the rear a 1.25mm or so height adjustment, will make an approximate 1mm actual height change.

5. Camber will make a big difference in ride height. In general, a .75 to 1 degree camber change will make approximately a 10 to 13mm change in ride height. Also, a ride height change will make a change in camber. So it is a balancing act

thanks

Now a more advanced alignment, you should be in the car when they are making height adjustments and camber adjustments. This is one of the steps in corner balancing. Doing this you will then see yet another advantage of having our Pedders HD adjustable sway bar end links because you would want to fit one of the end links on the alignment rack, then after you have the everything already set up ready to go, including centering of any non Pedders bushings, hook up the other end so there is no load on the bar at your new heights.

Just thought I would put this out for everyone to see

thanks

remember to get some 2x4,s and plywood..i do have a razzi ground kit and can,t get my floor jack under car{ that is stock height} i will be dropping 1-11/2 inches soon.. i built plywood ramps to drive up on to get high enough to slide jack under...i will def need to increase ramp height after dropping as it is only 2in high...you may want to consider something like this especially if you add gxf kit

You are 100% correct. I use 4 pieces of scrap 2X6 that are about a foot or so long and are cut at a 45 degree angle on one end. Before lowering the Camaro, you will need to place them under the tires so you can remove the jack stands and then the floor jack to be able to get the Camaro on the ground. I think you will need this kind of setup even with a 1 inch drop

Already have that covered guys. Thanks.

How much damage will I do to the tires, driving the car to the alignment, shop after I finish installing the coilovers?

Unless it is cross crountry or you hit a curb the wear will be minimal.

OK, I am dieing to know what the decision on the height is. Check out these pictures and tell me what you think:

AFTER PICTURES SET UP FOR 75% AGGRESSIVE STREET, AND 25% AGGRESSIVE DRAG

AFTER PICTURES SET UP FOR 75% AGGRESSIVE STREET, AND 25% AGGRESSIVE DRAG

The second picture shows the back up was lifted a little becasue the customer was putting opn some oversized drag radial.

So what do you think of these heights? This Camaro has long tubes, cutouts, and totally new exhaust. On speed bumps, we took it slowly, AS ALWAYS, and had not issues. The driveways I checked had no concerns

So tell us what you are going to do.

thanks

Well?

For me. I would say the front is too low and the back is about right.

So how much has it been lowered front and rear??

Since you are asking for pictures, here are a few. I have Pedders Track II suspension installed with a 1.5" drop with 10.5x20 with 295/35/20 on all four corners. First picture was the day is was fully installed, second picture was taken at Willow Springs Turn 6, and 3rd was taken the day before Bonneville 100 Race.
