There's pics of the light switch with "AUTO" on it.

It will turn the DRL's on and off as well as headlights automatically, like Corvette.

Excellent, thanks for the pic. For the wipers I would expect there to be an exterior sensor on the front half of the car, I'll try to see where they usually put it.

Edit: Ok it seems most manufacturers place the sensor for the auto wipers opposite the rear view mirror, in case anyone comes across a good picture of it.

It'll have the auto lights. It's also a safety feature.

About the wipers...doubt it. It would be cool, but nah. I don't think so

The dome is for the auto headlights. My Cobalt has the dome and it senses light for the headlights. Unfortunately, it is complete rubbish. The headlights work fine, but the interior (gauge) lighting is impossible. It turns the gauge lights on whenever there is bright sunlight so everything is washed out. I took it to the dealer and they said that was normal operation. They had better fix the calibration for the Camaro.

Thanks, yeah I really just wanted the auto lights, the wipers are pretty much a non-issue for me, I just asked since when I searched for auto headlights I found this thread so I figured I might as well ask again lol.

Take it to another dealer, it is not normal. The gauge lights should not be on unless it is almost dark or very cloudy. I have an 05 and had an 07 SS so I speak from experience.

The wipers on the camaro will most likely be speed sensitive like other newer chevy vehicles.

Ah the speed sensitive wipers are fantastic. On my Cobalt, it has about 5-6 settings for interval wipers (plus low speed and high speed constant wipers). The last setting for interval is speed sensitive, so the interval gap shortens as you go faster. So when you're stopped it only wipes every so often, but when you're driving fast the gap closes to near continuous. Unlike my auto-headlights, the speed sensing wipers work very well.

So since the lights have the auto setting. When would it turn on the DLR's. Personally I perfer to do it myself, just like to turn the switch. Its part of my routine.

I'm not sure in this case. On the Cobalt, every time you turn the car on it defaults to auto mode, even if you turned it off with it out of auto mode. When the sensor determines it is bright enough to shut off the headlights, the DLRs come on instead. If you turn auto mode off, all lights go off, even DLRs. Looking at the knob in the Camaro, it could work like the Cobalt, or we might get lucky and leaving it in Off mode will keep it off when restarting, in which case turning on the DLRs will be a matter of turning the knob one setting to the right. I hope they do it the second way.

i hate the auto headlights on my car. it turns on fine when i need them, but it also turns on when i don't need my lights. i want to be able to control my lights. and it doesn't have an official "off" position. just "on", "parking lights", "auto". and i totally don't mind drl's as long as i can turn my headlights off when i don't need them.

as far as auto wipers, that's just retarded. what if there's a light drizzle that wouldn't even make you think to turn on the wipers?! does it still turn on for that? wouldn't that just cause problems?

Push the dome light over ride button 5 times...

My guess is that the Camaro will have some settings that can be accessed through the DIC. On my wife's pathfinder, you can go in and adjust the sensitivity of the automatic headlights. I would hope the Camaro can do the same.

When the headlights turn on, the DRL turn off and vice versa.

I doubt the Camaro will have the true "automatic wipers" that turn themselves on when they sense rain. I would guess that it gets the speed sensing option though it isn't listed as such in the ordering guide. It just says "front intermittent wipers".
