I'm going through the same hassle with UPS. I purchased the scortch yellow interior tirm kit from a vendor here. No problem with delivery form UPS. I sold the silver/gray stock door & dash pieces to a member here and packed them up in the same packaging the new kit came in.

I take it to a local UPS store, sent them on the way from SE Pa to VA. I didn't buy the insurance (dopey me) but declared the value for as much as I sold them for.

I track them and get the dreaded exception as it lands in VA. All contents missing and carton discarded.

Anyway, go back to the store to file a claim and last I heard it was approved.

Still waiting for the final outcome but was told it could take a couple weeks before I would get a refund.

What a PIA.

Ouch :(

Hope all works out and they at least offer some of your money lose back if not all.

I know all is what everyone would prefer but sometimes something is better then nothing.

[QUOTE=jagan323;2076421]okay, i double checked my lamp. Yeah you are right, the crack is enough for moisture to get in =( That sucks... So you already purchased new housings? Also, why did you send ur lights to AAC? for Halos? =O[/

Yep.. Sent them to Jonathan to install my dual Halo's. And I already told Jonathan to put in the order for new housings. Either way you cut it (me paying or UPS paying) I need those housings. Hopefully UPS will cut me a check.

That being said, the damage looks like something that could be fixed with a little effort. If you have all the broken pieces you could probably epoxy them back together. Perhaps an epoxy repair and then a layer of fiberglass to brace it and it would be good to go.
Unfortunately the damage is too extensive. I would run the risk of moisture in the assembly and creating even more damage.

I see... yeah, i really hope UPS pays you for it. Also... when you get your Dual Halos, make sure to post pics. Because I'm very curious where they attach the halos on the Non-RS housing. I plan to do those myself sometime =p. What colour? Safe to assume White and Amber? or white and Red? =D

You need to check with the local UPS Manager where it was shipped, just because you didn't insure doesn't mean they can destroy your stuff. As long as the receiving party stated it was damaged when they signed for it you should be good.

If the packaging was flimsy, it shoud have been noted at the time of shipment. I am not sure of the value limits on packages but this should be a good starting place for you.

Declared Value
Gain peace of mind with extra protection for your domestic packages and international shipments

Description UPS automatically protects every shipment against loss or damage up to a value of US$100.00. With Declared Value, you can request protection up to US$50,000.00 per package.

FRom UPS WEBSITE

Per domestic package and international shipment*:
$0.70 for each $100.00 (or portion of $100.00) of the total value declared, with a minimum charge of $2.10

*These conditions apply for international shipments:

The maximum declared value per individual package is $50,000.00.
To calculate declared value for multi-package shipments greater than $50,000.00, multiply the declared value by .0070.

You got it spade! White and Amber with Amber fogs. I'm not crazy about the LED look, but figured with 6K Xenon Plasma bulbs and the Texas heat, I was afraid to go CCFL and having my own personal "fireworks" show courtesy of my front end. Between the heat factors and the gas pressure of the flourecents I didn't want to take the chance.

exact same thing happened to my brother. All the mounting tabs were snapped off. If that makes you feel any better.

Every UPS package comes with $100.00 for insurance automatically. Unfortunately since you did not insure for more that is all they will not pay you. We file 3-5 claims a week and their policies are cut and dry on all this. Sorry it had to happen.
