My husband's Camaro has a crack with no impact marks on it. We filed under insurance to have it repaired (it's only about 2 or 3 inches longs), but the glass company said it was a stress crack, has no impact marks and is unrepairable.

We took it to a dealership who is a sponsor of our car club and was told it was not covered under warranty. We'll be looking for another dealer.

It's night time now, but I'll take pics and upload them tomorrow.

I have one as well. My dealer just plain refused to fix it. I'm taking this info to them PDQ!

If your window is hitting the molding something is way wrong. Are the body lines all correct?? Door opens as it should??

I had a crack that looked exactly like this on my old WRX. A rock hit the window right below the windshield wiper and caused a crack to start forming. The impact didn't leave a mark, but definitely triggered the crack.

2011 2SS Camaro

I just got home today from work and I have the exact same crack on the passenger side of my 2011 SS Camaro. It appears to have started under the plastic beneath the hood and worked its way up. I am taking my car in tomorrow for them to inspect it. I am already waiting on the spoiler fix kit where the spoiler has chipped the paint off of both sides of my trunk lid. I just got my car back from the dealership having paint warranty issues on my rocker panels, front fenders, and rear quarters. They repainted those panels and I was told that the factory paint was too thin. They also had to replace a right rear brake backing plate which was installed wrong on the assembly line and was rubbing and causing my rear brakes and emergency brake to stay engaged. I have also noticed the drivers side door starting to sag a little. My car is driven everyday and has 17,000 miles. I love my new camaro but I am highly disappointed in GM's engineers and the quality of the body of the car so far. I bought a new car to enjoy and not make trips back and forth to the shop for warranty issues. I bought a new 1994 camaro in late 1993 and that was the best car that I have ever owned. I only had one issue with the 1994 camaro and that was the t-top headliner sagging and they gladly fixed it. I really love the car but I will say that if you have to have a new camaro, then be ready to make warranty claims.

2011 2SS Camaro Windshield Crack

I was told today by the local dealership that my windshield crack was caused by a rock, yet I cannot feel any chip nor see any chip. I was also told that the #PIE0083 could not be found on their computer and the print out that I had in my hand was downloaded online and looked to be fake. I was offered some advice by the service manager before I left. He said I needed to touch up a chip on my roof before it began to rust. I took my finger and wiped off the so called chip which was dirt and told him that the chip had just been touched up. I am planning on going to another dealership to see if I can get any satisfaction. I am trying to attach some pictures.

if it's broken on the inside of the glass and theres no impact, it's a stress crack... if it's broken on the outside, it can be debatable... use your insurance, support local business, and ask about the products they use... i could possibly reccomend a glass replacement facility in your area, just PM me...

Was contacted by a GM rep today and was told that since they could not look at the glass, they would have to take the dealer's word on the crack. They denied any warranty on the windshield. I feel like I was lead around in a circle by my nose.

As I was driving to work this morning, I crossed a bridge on the interstate. When I did, the windshield made a small audible pop and I watched crack all the way across the windshield parrallel to the dash. The crack stopped almost the same distance from the side as the where the crack originally started. I think there is a stress point or the glass was not properly tempered at the manufacturing plant. Has anyone elses car done this yet?

im confused to why you guys are going through your dealership to get crack fixed? mine is covered under insurance everytime. i had a small crack in mine, im assuming from a rock 2 days after i got the car.i didnt want to get replaced and break the original seal and risk rust so i left it alone. couldnt see it really so whatever 3 months later that crack spread. looked like an octupus jumped on my car lol. called insurance they replaced it next day for FREE! is it because im in florida and i have full coverage or what. even my last car i had 4 winshields replaced. ALL FREE
