I could probably put something like that near the end of my 3" section instead of trying to splice in some resonators. I'm getting a little a drone in 6th between 70 and about 82ish mph.
These should help and they're easy to install.

They comes with two caps. One is completely closed so you can drill any size hole you want, if any. The other has about a 0.75" diameter hole it it, which is the one I used.

Couple more questions. How does yours now sound on the highway in 6th gear?

Did you notice much of a change to the exhaust sound, does it still sound pretty good under hard throttle? Any noticeable change in performance?

Thanks.

Hey Russell, the sound is actually the same, just slightly toned down. No real change in performance, but the car "seems" faster but I think that's due to the change in tone throwing me off.

Why didn't you put them in the header collector as designed? Just Curious as I have the same exhaust and the same DRONE.

I tack welded these things (without either of those restrictive caps) in my off road pipes (no cats) and lost about 20 RWHP. I dyno'd just before putting them in, and then just after. 100% effective on highway drone, however. Ended up cutting them out, getting rid of the Flowmasters (I know, I know) and cutting/welding in 4 inch (O.D. of the case) round Magnaflows just after the x-pipe, then replacing the Flowmasters with 5 in x 14 in oval Magnaflows, all of those are the typical Magnaflow straight thru perforated pipe mufflers. I then dyno'd that and saw the 20 RWHP come back. Oh, and ZERO drone. Here's a link to the Magnaflow part numbers...and yes, it is a tight fit, but it's definitely workable: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76805

Anything put in the exhaust path is going to cause a restriction and disrupt the exhaust pulse. This in turn will decrease the amount of exhaust that can escape and disrupt the ability, to an extent, in scavaging. All this leads to a decrease in HP. As to how much is the question and if the lessening of drone is worth the loss in HP. That is up to you though. I think a set of small bullet mufflers or resonators would have accomplished the same thing and wouldn't affect the HP as much. It would have been a bit more expensive though.

I just installed the same units on my JBA LT Header Back system and it made a big difference in the DRONE. I put mine in the front of the H Pipe right after the Cats. There is still a little bit, but it is no where near what it was. I think I might put some HushMat in the trunk to see what that does to the overall interior sound, but it's OK to drive now without yelling to your passenger.
