Definitely going to be a few thousand worth. By the looks of the picture and it's hard to tell... it looks like most of the damage was at the rear of your car. If the doors are misaligned now or any problems with them you're going to be looking at a lot more than a fender.

That sucks!!!! Look at the bright side, at least it was not a hit and run and the other drivers insurance will pay to fix it...

As far as insurance goes, yes some States are "No Fault" which basically means that even though the other drivers insurance may pay for the damage, you still take a hit..

Feel your pain, has happened to me before but luckily not in my Camaro.

On the insurance front, it is probably likely you will get screwed even when non fault is the verdict. Underwriters at insurance companies tend to work using statistics and unfortunately statistics show that those involved in a claim (even when non fault) are statistically more likely to be involved in another claim within 12-36 months.

I am so sorry, that totally sucks! I get so freaked when people are backing up. One time in a parking lot, this old lady was backing up and I was directly behind her. I honked my horn, but she kept moving. I finally had to jump out and wave her down. She looked at me like I was stupid. Said she saw me, but that she had plenty of room. Well yeah, if she planned to park in my front seat! I am not ashamed, I almost beat up an old lady that day!

Painful to read your story and even more painful to look at the pics. Glad you were not seriously hurt.
