I just want to echo the advice above. Always, always, always buy new cars based on dealer invoice. My rule is to pay no more than $100 over dealer invoice. It's a fair price and someone will take it. I have purchased many vehicles in my life and all of them were $100 over dealer invoice with three exceptions: I have an agreement with a dealer friend of mine that I will pay $250 over dealer invoice. Second exception: in 1998, I was looking for a Ford pickup and was planning to order the truck. Being the last day of the month, the sales person said, "If you take one off the lot, I'll give you $500 BELOW dealer invoice." My response: "Sold." Third exception: My 2010 Camaro. They were still in high demand and I really wanted one. So, I paid list.

Here is where you can find dealer invoice information: http://www.edmunds.com/new/2011/chev...18/prices.html. (Note that there is usually a 2 percent "hold-back" built into the dealer invoice. So, even if you pay dealer invoice, the dealer is making 2 percent, BEFORE any incentives from Chevrolet.)

Once, when picking up an ordered car, the sales person tried to add additional charges. We got up to leave. He took them all back off. Don't allow any last minute charges.

Also, decide what model, color and options you want and get THAT car. Order it if you have to. It will be worth the wait.

Finally, take NONE of the dealer add-ons (extended warranty, tire protection, etc.) None of them. They are all rip-offs.

By the way, welcome. You will love your new Camaro. Post pics once you get it.

Kelley Blue Book is quite inflated right now. My car is worth more used than new.

Those prices seem reasonable. Im assuming those prices are sticker prices tho. After taxes, title, licence, dealer options (spare tire, extended warranty, etc etc etc...) it will for sure be higher than 31.5K or 33.9K. I got the synergy green which only comes in the 1LT for 2010 and sticker price was 27K, after i drove off with it total price jumped up. So just be aware of that.

I'd go with the Auto personally but hey its ur car lol. Any color you choose will be awesome b/c its a camaro. but if youre looking to be different, id say dont get RJT or RY. Get summit white with black stripes instead. that color is amazing and not too many on the road compared to the other colors. ABM, White, IOM, and SGM are my favorite eye popping colors. when i see a camaro with any color other than these i cant help but think its not too long before our 5th Gens are gonna be like all the black or red stangs running around.

Im a fan of American muscle cars so i also like the challengers and some stangs but the common colors on them get old quick. For the challengers, i dont see too many purple or blue ones so i love those colors. on the stangs, that bright orange and light blue are pretty cool. But as someone stated before, you gotta go with ur gut feeling. If you dont fall in love with it the first time u see it or drive it.. dont get it. Just my 2 cents.

i wouldnt agree completely that all the add-ons are rip offs. sad to say but ive found 2 tires on my camaro with nails in them, at different times, within the past 4 months and got them replaced at the dealer i bought the car at no cost to me b/c of the tire protection. its not a huge increase in price to get a few add-ons. I also got the spare tire, I didnt want to have a blow out one day, God forbid, and be stranded somehwere or have to call a tow. To me those little things are worth the extra cost. i didnt get the extended warranty however. Mods that i eventually add will void that anyways so think about that too OP.

and yes post pics Good Luck!
