The SS tests have to be coming pretty quick right??? Unless they are still tuning the suspension. I know there is a rumor that the ss will go back to the ring...

Maybe that's what they are waiting for......

Meh. Magazine drivers usually aren't great. They're still journalists. I place little faith in Magazine numbers.

Magazine racing is for kids. Dyno racing is for Supras. You want to know how fast your car is? Go run it.

Yeah, but at least they are equally as bad with all of the cars they test so the results are even when compared to other cars they've tested...

That's not really true. Their times are off from bone stock/stock tire record holders anywhere from 3-6 tenths, which, when it comes to magazine racing, is a lot.

When you see a magazine 1/4 mile time, just assume that that pass was made in the middle of summer at LACR and the car will go at least that.

I believe he meant when comparing MT to MT or C&D to C&D or Edmunds to Edmunds it is consistent. But to compare Edmunds to the real world . . .

The performance numbers should be really good (better than some might expect), because most of the first magazine testing will be done in the cold air of winter.
And LSX motors just love cold air.

I've ordered my Camaro today in CGM. The salesman gave me an idea of the shade. I hope it's darker vs lighter...can't wait to see the real deal.

What proof do you have to make that statement?

Car and Driver for instance has Patrick Bedard. He raced in the Indy 500 twice back in the '80s. I'd say he can drive. Their editor-in-chief is Csaba Csere, who has driven pretty much any race car you can think of, from NASCAR to F1, and has driven competitively for years in 24-hour hour events.

Road & Track also has big-name editors and contributors, such as Gordon Murray, who has designed Formula 1 and McLaren F1 cars. Road & Track enlists racing superstars to perform many of their tests, such as champion road racer Steve Millen, champion autocrosser Gary Thomason, and IRL driver Roger Yasukawa.

No offense, but I think the magazine drivers are a bit better than you think they are.

Usually doesn't Motortrend or Edmunds.com even get a freakin' test car a few months before they hit the streets and get to test, maybe we'll get a nice christmas present from one of them getting to test one. I was severly dissapointed in the Challenger SRT8, 13.2 for the 08' auto and 13.8 for the 09 manual model from Motortrend. But for a car that only weighs slightly more than the Camaro, and around the same power, it sure don't sound too great.
