so i have an appt to have my car paint and under armor fixed for monday @ 9:00 am, i have to leave it till like thursday, they are fixing a rock chip that had been touched up apparently after a previous test drive so we made them fix it......i called auto armor and asked how long after a paint job did i have to wait to apply again and she said 30 days so the paint can cure, but the dealers body shop guy said 4 months, well love bug seasons right around the corner so unless i takr care of them everyday ima incur damage from love splatter, but the rep from auto armor said it would still be covered by the warranty being it recieved the first application , even if it had to be removed for refinishing.

The Auto Armor "product" is worthless, and meaningless. What you are paying for is the warranty. The actual product is a run-of-the-mill sealant.

Auto Armour is a RIP-OFF!!!

It is car wax and nothing more. My buddy in the body shop at my local dealer told me I'd be wasting my money and that I'd be better off buying a good wax like Maguire's because that is all Auto Armour is... wax with teflon in it.

Cloth seats and all carpeting come from the factory with stain resist on them already.

Next time, save your money.

In your warranty manual, rail dust/industrial fall out is covered under warranty within the first 12 months/12,000 miles.

Couldn't agree more. My dealer was charging me $300.00 for this so called "Option". Told him no thanks. He looked very disappointed.

I have seen this a few times on peoples new vehicles. Auto armour is just a dealer profit gainer. Hold the dealership accountable and if they do not make it right then you need to get the BBB and GM involved. Just my two cents. I hope you get your car fixed and looking sweet again.

great news yall, we griped to the manager about the auto armour and how the shop guy told us it would be 4 months(after luv bug season) before he could re-apply the auto armor, and how we wanted to add stripes while the car was in the shop,(for the touched up rock chip that was there prior to our purchase) and they are going to let us take the money we put into the auto armour and put it towards my stripes. they said we can come back and add the auto armor again any time we want but we will have to pay for it again(of course) but i dont plan on going that route ever again. So i should have some pix up soon of "salem" in a couple of days with his new stripes, hes a black 2011 2lt/rs, and im going to do the white ss stripes much like this one. only not having the mail slot.

Rail dust issues are, unfortunately, quite common. I delivered a Black Silverado with rail dust. Customer brought it back. Once we confirmed it was rail dust, our detail shop worked on the truck and made it right. Redelivered to satisfied customer (we waxed it while he watched). The fix for rail dust is NOT clay. Believe it or not, as described to me by our detail manager, the fix involves an acid bath with more than one application.

I rely on my detail Mgr's expertise because the Silverado looked great when the customer drove off.
