no need to feel stupid, not everyone knows how to tint a car.. haha and if the tint is good quality and has a good warranty, then $200-$220 is a fair price.

They put tape on my Window Buttons to remind me to not row the windows down for 3 days. The opening / closing the doors did not damage any tint. Cost was $160 with a lifetime warranty.

you mean, the guy with the heat gun shrinking the tint on the outside? they have to do this to make the tint contour to the window. They fit it on the outside, usually putting talc-powder down on the window so it doesn't stick, then heat gun the top and bottom to contour to the window, then put it on the inside.

Both ... It makes it a lot easier to see the traffic light when the sun is blaring in the window ...

$220.00 seems to be the typical price if you live in a Northern State where there seems to much less competition for window tinting. I looked around and checked prices in Massachusetts and they were all within a few dollars of one another. My son goes to school in Daytona and he was able to get his car done in Florida for closer to $100.00 because there are so many places to get it done.

One other thing to remember is to never clean the tint with anything that contains ammonia. It will turn the tint purple. I think we've all seen cars where people have made that mistake!

For myself it was an extra $25 and well worth it, also get it as dark as your State allows ...

My tint guy uses a pen in the door latch. (With door open, slide pen into the actuator, simulating door closed, forces window to index closed). I recommend the car to sit with doors open and pen inserted for as long as possible. At least a couple of hours. I had 5% put on the back and two side wing windows and 10% on the doors. I had 5% brow installed too. With the "allready" chopped top feeling for driver, it does make it feel a little tighter inside, but does compensate for the tiny sunvisor. I love the look from the outside. Patience with the door window indexing is a must. Let it sit as long as possible without moving the window. I paid $180.00 in Houston from a reputable installer with Lifetime warranty.
