How about the price of the car is considered a tax deduction? This may be an unpopular point of view here in Camaro land, but as a small business owner, I get hammered by taxes, health benefits, and raising two kids.

So when they fly in in corporate jets, have an absolutely unprepared agenda, and then hold their hand out for my money, makes for a less enthusiastic purchase.

I personally am going to be in contact with my dealer after the first of the year, if its forever and a day to get this car, or we are right back to the " I dont know's " that dealers can fall back on as far as delivery times, I am buying a Mustang, or a Vette, and will wait to see these cars come on the used market.

At 9.3 million a year for executives, and 81 dollars an hour for GM employees, I have a hard time on the 15th of the month putting a tax check in the mail.
And I have a hard time believing u have a union that has pretty much required u to pay them at a rate that most of them don't deserve. Also I doubt u have health insurance bills u have to take care of from decades ago employees. Small buisnesses are one thing large ones that have been around for decades is another. You are coming off jealous of the size and scope of their company compared to yours. Either way sounds like you already decided to buy something else so do it now instead of waiting. For one the two purchases u talked about are still infuzing money into one of the big three. So it helps either way. But good luck.

I think it's ridiculous that there is even a debate about Congress helping GM. They have provided jobs for 100 years, helped us win wars and helped built this country. The first time they need a little help and the U.S.. turns its back on them. Think about all the billions in foreign aid we send to other countries with no debate or congressional hearings. Have we ever seen leaders of foreign countries go before congress and beg like they made the Big 3 do?

You need to be registered for the GM supplier discount.

Make Crysler merge with GM and go away as a label. Ford should survive but will probably be a lot smaller.

I was listening to Fox 5 out of New York today (XM radio). They are stating the Big 3 will most likely get funds. Not just the 25b they are requesting, but an additional 50b equalling 75b all together is possible. The DEMS are really pushing for this to happen.

GM and the other two need to put together a really good plan to rebuild the infrastructure of their companies. I am counting on them, especially around February to April to produce the Camaro and to make it past this hurdle. I really look forward to future manufacturing of the Camaro line.

This was just on the news this morning.

After throwing another $20bil (after the $25bil they already got) plus backing $300bil of bad debt for Citi, they damn well better give the big 3 the money they need. It would be complete hypocrisy if they didn't.

^ I tend to agree.

Where is all the scrutiny and questioning regarding this 20 bill? Why do the banks get a pass and a Bailout, while GM goes through the wringer for a loan?

Well, one thing to think about is that the market cap of Ford and GM combined is a bit less than $6 Billion. At least Citi is up around $32 Billion. Would you loan someone 4x more than you could just buy control of their company for? Just a thought.

And no, I don't pretend to understand the decision making process in DC right now.
