The pictures people are posting of the "supposed" new FOB do not have the trunk release button.. don't think they would leave those off the "real" replacement. I'll wait and see what they come up with before deciding if I'll trade in my current keys.

I've got 60K on my 2010 and have yet to have a problem with the key fob. I think I'll be fine for the next 60K.

Probably because its a Malibu, and the key is worth more than the car...J/K but that is a good question, I am sure they would sit as close to the steering wheel and ignition in that car as well. Maybe GM has to wait on Death to recall.
