Things that make you go hmmmm.....1LE is the next Z blueprint I think, and maybe with a LS9? There was not alot of feedback when Pete asked about the powerplant earlier, sooooo, connecting the dots....me thinks we may get a S/C Z after all? Guys...., thoughts?

I very much doubt a s/c Z28. Plus it's not what I'm looking for.

What you are looking for is a L/28 from Conceptually a L/28 at a price point between the SS and ZL1.

the prob with the ss its a big fat pig, if you can some how reduce the weight then you have a bad ass ride 3,400 is right where the camaro should be otherwise its a bunch of f ing spending money on bs you should not be needing.

I doubt you will ever see a Camaro at 3,400 pounds. Dimensionally it would be the size of a Vette.

Game...Set...MATCH!

If I can inject a modicum of Vette "reality" into the Camaro cast of characters, a GS+...or a Z06 -...minus the high-co$t weight-savings to keep the price point as broad-based as possible.

IF the ZL1 is as "capable" as promised, handling-wise, then lose the blower/hardware (shaving 200 lb.), up the LS3 power level to bridge the 426-580 gap (LS7?), put the BEST "suspenders" you can attach to its "britches" (MRC or enhanced FE4, whichever!), minimize the Base content (1SS w/1LS trim...weight/price), and option it out in "dressy" (2SS) and/or "racy" (coolers) duds to satisfy "marketing" to broaden the base...

Oh, and I'll take Serial #00001, if that's fine with Mr. Hendrick...

Since the Camaro will share the Alpha platform with the Caddie ATS, and since Caddie has certain benchmarks for its structure that Camaro will be obliged to accept as well, a weight drop much more than 5-7% from current 1LS (currently about 3740) is unlikely. With a base 4-cylinder, figure on near-3500 lb...more for a V6...and even more for a V8. Consider a 4-cylinder Buick Regal is 3580...FWD, but similar size...

I hope GM doesn't do this. we have a ZL1 to whoop the GT500 with.

And we need something to put the Boss in its place too.

I am waiting for the 2012 ZL1. the recent GT500 news does put a new spin on things, but spinning is something I think the GT500 is going to have a problem with, traction control or not. The ZL1 has a lot of development behind it and it is good to go. Later, when Chevy pumps even more power into it, the car will be that much more capable of handling it.

but we need something to put the Boss in its place from the factory.

THAT should be the Z28. Relegating it to a Track Pack is an insult.

Exactly! As we have previously discussed that, but, answer this guys, how can GM heat up a LS3 and put in within emissions standards?....and thats what I want as well, a N/A motor. All we have is the LS3, LS7, LS9, and LSV thats a certified production motor..are they going to "go through it" and bump it up for the Z? We know theres too much involved time and $ wise to do that. What's our recourse, the LS7? That thought keeps getting back shelved. WE all want, I think, a mid level Z between the SS and the ZL1. Whats the motor going to be? We pretty much see the future with the enhanced suspension, ZL1 tires and rubber, and MRC...where's the beef? Sticking a non recallibrated LS3 in it would be useless...spending the money to revamp the LS3 isn't going to be done, unless someone knows a program is ongoing to do so. GMPP motors are off road only. Mac, get out the Majic 8 ball and ask...LOL

I am thinking that Vette sales could use a bump before the next model so we could see a bump in the base engine. Psss, Chevrolet, hint, Hint, HINT
