Also, fair enough. Whatever is on the sticker is what I'm paying for the car. No more, no less. The way is should be I suppose. Price protection would have been nice though. I'm still ok with it that way as long as MSRP does not mean a $3K suprise on delivery.
There was a memo that went out to the dealers which stated that R6P orders WERE price protected. This was an R6P order.

So Tag - I guess CGM car #1 that Tom is working on is available to the highest bidder huh? That's how I interpret this dealers point.
Hylton, I'm not saying I like it because I don't. If she agreed to order and buy at market price instead of MSRP and Camaro's are being sold in that area for $44,000 then that is market price for that area. While she may not like it she still has been offered first dibs on the car at current area market value. Again, EMJAY lets clear this up fast. Either you made a mistake and misunderstood your agreement or you are getting screwed. Without the paperwork we are all wasting time in this thread.

So yeah, we took your deposit and placed an order in your name. But if you don't want to pay more than MSRP for it when the time comes, we'll move you to the end of the list. Am I reading that right? So who all would she be behind on the list, everyone that wanted to pay more than MSRP through next year? What is wrong with these people? At least the first dealer I went to told me up front that I would be at the end of the list if I didn't want to pay over MSRP. So I went to another dealer.

A copy of that paperwork would do nicely. Again though it is what she agreed to.

Well before things go any further, we should VERIFY that pre-orders were in fact price protected. If they were, then the dealer deserves the wrath of camaro5.

If this was in any way NOT the case, then emj has to provide proof that there was a written deal for MSRP. The dealer CANNOT provide that to us. How would you like it if private documents for your car or, say, house purchase was plastered all over the internet by the seller? It would be a severe breach of security.

While I admire *everyone* who is stepping in to help, facts must be provided before action is taken.

Right now, it's her word against his. So we just have to leave it at that until we hear from Emjay.

Marie Jenkins is my name and I have been on the phone with lawyers and so on. I would be happy at this point with my deposit back! Yesterday my salesmen called (I like him he is honest!!!) and told me that "I know the guy it's going to so I can't say much" so Im guessing my car is GONE! I would be happy now to get my deposit back!

if she really signed a document agreeing to market adjustments, that is not the dealers fault, dealers are just that DEALERS they are in it for money not for their health.

Boats have fallen in price. Jewelry has fallen in price. The stock market has fallen in price. So the Camaro should follow suit and fall in price if they were to sell it at market value.
Sometimes market price favors the consumer, sometimes it favors the business. Is it fair that your car depreciates as soon as you drive it off the lot? You put 1 mile on it and it's now worth 20% less. Everything has it's dynamic. In your theory Gold should not be allowed to go up in price. It's all reletive to the holder of the commodity. Once again, supply and demand. There is nothing wrong with it. A Babe Ruth rookie card is valuable because of the nostolgia and rareity. Without a poosibility to sell it I wouldn't pay 2 dollars for it. There are those who would pay thousands for it. The Moroni law says the dealer has to disclose the MSRP. (window sticker) Dealers are NOT evil because they get more for a rare vehicle. Market value is a dynamic number. It changes from day to day.

Using your theory 'The stock market has fallen in price. So the Camaro should follow suit and fall in price if they were to sell it at market value. Then ALL stocks should fall in price because one of them does. Thank God that isn't how it works. Market value is VERY, VERY, simple. What people are willing to pay for an item is market value.

God forbid you change your mind and the dealer says, "Ahh, no, you cannot get your money back because you signed the form for the car and we might have trouble selling the vehicle if we allow you out of your contract with us." It works both ways. Imagine if this happened when buying a house?!
I just want to know if there is anything price protecting the R6P cars. I got mine in writing and my dealer has confirmed to me that I will pay MSRP = Tax, Tag and Title and that's IT. But apparenlty some have reneged on even that.

Since I ordered IOM that has already happened to my price.
Right. That was my deal. MSRP, at time of invoice.
